The image looks very similar to these sold over at Target:

If so, it looks like the price over there might be a better deal, if you don't want the bonus pillows.

[Mod (TT): I had to go all the way through the purchase process but shipping was $26.73 to me for the full-size mattress.]

Scratch that on the pricing, shipping over at Target is around $42. Woot! price is king.

Does anyone know how these ship? Is it like the bed in a box, or do you find the mattress on on your lawn (if you have one) and a family you do not know sleeping on it when you get home from work?

It looks like (From reviews elsewhere) that these ship rolled up like a carpet and take about a day to fully "inflate" before using.

Can somebody tell me if this requires a bedspring? I'm never had a foam mattress and this might be a dumb question.

EDIT shoot I was too late.

This only has two inches of memory foam. That's not much for something billed as a memory foam mattress. It's more common to have at least three inches of memory foam before you get to the "core foam" and "high-density supportive base foam" (aka standard Polyurethane foam rubber).

I stayed up for this?!?

does this work on platform beds that has wooden slats as foundations? I have ones with curved springy slats that are farther apart then the usual Ikea ones. Not sure if the foam will sink in between them.

I bought one of these (full) for my dad a year ago. The smell DOES go away within a week. He loves it, and has no back problems since then.

I'm going to pick one up for myself, in a larger size.

No, it does not require a box-spring. In fact, you should never use a box-spring base with a memory foam mattress, as it will not provide enough support...eventually your memory foam mattress will be lower in the center than at the edges. You should use either a foundation made for memory foam mattresses (basically just a hard, hollow box) or use the mattress on a platform bed. In cases where memory foam mattress owners end up dissatisfied, a lot of the time it's because they put the mattress on top of their old box-springs. If you read a review where they say something like "we both wake up in the middle of the mattress," that's almost always the cause.

If you must use a box-spring with your current bed, you should put a 3/4" sheet of OSB or plywood between the box-spring and the memory foam mattress. The wood sheet will eliminate the sagging problem.

I stayed up for this?!?

How much does a full mattress weight (50 lbs?)?

How does it ship? Surely not via the postal service?

Okay - so if these are only 2" of memory foam, then why not just buy a memory foam topper if you have a decent mattress? I've been relaly wanting to grabone of these, but I keep hearing my sister's voice in teh back o fmy head telling me how she bought a topper & how amazing it is & how she still loves it 2 years later, etc. I would love to upgrade to a king - but Dh is not sold on that idea & yadda, yadda - so does anyone know how putting a memory foam topper on compares to getting a memory foam mattress? If I get a topper that keeps me in a queen zsize of course. :S

Umm... not sure that I want to get in the middle of a marital "discussion" about mattress choice! Based on my experience, the memory foam topper might be a nice "gateway" into convincing your husband to go for the full memory foam mattress.

After a year of sleeping on a 2" mattress topper, I decided to get a memory foam mattress (I believe it's 4" of memory foam rather than the 2" included here). The mattress topper was a revelation: evened out the pressure points, cushioned a bad hip so that I could sleep on that side again, turned bedtime/sleep into a treat instead of something that increased my soreness. And then I got a true memory foam mattress: woah! Forget about evening out pressure points: it no longer feels like there are any! Serious back/hip pain have really diminished, plus since I'm in less discomfort, I'm sleeping longer and more restfully. To be fair, I bought it at the same time that I started a new anti-inflammatory medication, but I would say that my pain level diminished from a 9/10 to a 1/10 because of those two changes, and I think they contributed evenly.

Potentially dissenting view: my puppy still attempts to sleep on my stomach.

How are these on dissipating heat? I've thrown away foam mattress toppers in the past because I seem to wake up in the middle of the night sweating because of the heat retention in the foam. Are these any better?

I originally got a 1.5in 4.3LB memory foam and I thought it eased the pressure point on my injured hip, but I still felt it. Then I got another 1.5in one and stuffed them together into one cover and it eased the pressure point completely to the point that I can lie on the injured side and sleep. That was before 2in foam were prevalent.

If you are to get toppers, it is important to look at the density of the foam, since many places that sell cheap 2-3in foam could be 2-3LB density, which won't provide any support. If you can find 5+LB density, it would be ideal. Although I had samples of 6LB foam and it did not feel as good as a 5.3LB sample. Also, you have to look at how closed cell they are, some are like viscous fluid while other are like soap sponges, bouncing back pretty quickly.

I picked up an 8" memory foam about a month ago. It was vacuum packed and folded in half. The box it came in was about the size of a mini, dorm-room personal refrigerator.

It dissipates heat (which is what I was very worried about because I sweat while reading) very well and I've gotten flawless nights of sleep since night 1. I also own the memory foam pillow and dig that as well.

Also, we use ours on an iKea bedframe with one of their cheap flat wooden lat supports and that works fine.

It's been a great purchase and I paid about twice this price (kinda wish I hadn't moved until now!). Extra background, we went to this mattress after a pillow top king that was an amazing night's rest. I haven't missed that mattress once!

Do NOT jump on this deal!

Despite warnings from previous buyers, I decided to gamble with this one last time. Seemed great at the beginning, but after a while it literally ended up with a permanent sag and we found ourselves purchasing a new mattress less than six months in.

We later discovered through research and conversations with mattress reps that memory foam is prone to degrade when vacuum packed for extended periods of time (Imagine having a mattress shrink-wrapped for years in a warehouse somewhere---do you seriously expect it to just "come back to life" and last forever when re-exposed to air? Probably not. Even shrink-wrapped food has a shelf life).

That was one of my primary concerns when I switched to a memory foam about a month ago. Mine dissipates just like my old pillow top used to. I feel hot 90% of the time and sweat when I read so this was a very serious concern. We've had days this summer where it's been 82 degrees in our bedroom at bedtime and slept soundly all night long.

Perhaps sheet selection will help if you do find yourself uncomfortable. We have 400+ thread count cotton blends on ours and they always feel cool to the touch. Anna's Linens runs great deals on those on a weekly to monthly basis.

How long does this take to ship, and is there anyway to upgrade shipping? I'm moving on Wednesday and need a mattress to sleep on right away!

I've been thinking about buying this mattress every time it has come up on Woot for the last 3 years.

I personally find it hilarious these were JUST up all together on woot. With statements from staff that we complained about them having one size on each site so they put them all together. Now they still have multiple on woot and use the others as fillers for other sites. Its getting a little nuts.

Anyway. For the tall folks. when I gave in. And was set to buy about a year ago, then realized there was no California king, someone else posted this.

www.walmart.com/ip/Spa-Sensations-12-Theratouch-Memory-Foam-Mattress-Multiple-Sizes/10086752

Costs a little more, but warranty, free ship to store, I could move it by myself, no dimpling so far, and very comfortable
