Looks like a good deal, but I kind of wanted one with bluetooth connectivity to play tunes at work without being docked. Not sure I could connect it to wifi, with the guest login procedure everyday. I've never used AirPlay ... can you use streaming music apps like Pandora through AirPlay?
this would pop up when I have been looking at these for home. ITS A SIGN!
Will this be compatible with the iPhone 5?

According to the rumor mill, its thought that Apple is switching from the standard 30 pin connector to a 19 pin variant. So any of the old peripherals or accessories won't work without Bluetooth. If that is the case I'm sure there will be an adapter; its only a question of whether they'll include it or make you pay for it separately.

yes. double click home button, shift bottom icons to the right and you will see a set of audio functions select airplay. then any of your music apps will play through your airplay device.

Surely you jest! Apple have an adapter that doesn't cost $30? Never!
Can this be used with Zunes?

29.99<30.00!
Wow! This is cheaper than an Airport Express (for AirPlay), and is also a great set of speakers, and is also an iPhone and iPad dock? If I didn't already have a house full of AEs, I'd be all over this.
I would get this if not for the iPhone 5 uncertainty, which could be why it's on sale. It seems like we're seeing more 4/4S accessories lately.
AirPlay is a great feature. Most apps support it and it's nice to be walking around your house with your phone in your pocket and be able to change the song / app. It the speaker is going somewhere with a wifi network don't worry about the dock, you won't use it anyway.
I bought this last time they offered it (at $20 more). LOVE it! I'd recommend it - especially for the price. You can go wireless or plug it in and the speakers are good. Just what I need for work.
We're talking about Apple here, it's not really a question of whether they will include it or not. The question is more along the lines of "How much will they charge you for a cheap piece of plastic?".
How many volts DC does this use? I have a 12V DC system and would get this if it happened to run on 12V. So if anyone has this and can look on the wall plug to see what voltage DC is the output, I'd love to know!
you cannot use streaming apps. if you have and ipod, you connect automaticaly to the device without being docked though. airplay is a pretty cool tool.
according to bzickerman you can. my bad.

Within a month you'll be able to get it on monoprice for $3
Hello people of Woot. Does anyone know if this Dock also charges it's attached iPod? I just bought an iPod 5g and the Kliptch dock that I already have, doesn't charge it.
Pandora works fine with Airplay, Itunes will work with airplay, just about any streaming app will...I Heart Radio, etc...
I don't have this unit but have always preferred JBL's sound quality to that of other reasonably priced compact iPod/laptop speakers - including vs. Altec Lansing. I have a very compact sliding/collapsable stereo speaker setup that sounds geat for its size, looks great (chrome/black), and is really solidly built. I wish JBL still sold it so I could get a couple more for family.
Anyone know if this thing rotates for video on an ipad? The amazon page shows it for the iphone, but I am not sure if the ipad would be sturdy enough in it.
would that dock work with my otterbox? most don't, but that one looks like it might.

No it doesn't. I just watched a bunch of YouTube videos on it. The OnBeat Extreme however does rotate for iPads.
Well, it's got airplay, so yes. It also has a USB port if you want to charge from that.
Can you add an external subwoofer ?
anyone know if this runs on batteries?
migelito wrote:would that dock work with my otterbox? most don't, but that one looks like it might.
Nope, my husband has the defender and I have a smaller otterbox cover on my iPhone and it doesn't work with either, despite other reviews saying that it does.
Vonritski wrote:anyone know if this runs on batteries?
nope, does not.
Baturro wrote:Hello people of Woot. Does anyone know if this Dock also charges it's attached iPod? I just bought an iPod 5g and the Kliptch dock that I already have, doesn't charge it.
Yes, it does charge the iPod or iPhone.
I am listening to this right now, streaming Pandora through the iPhone.
I would buy it if it had a built in battery. Great buy but it needs to be portable.
This is apple you're talking about right? They're not really known for "giving" stuff away when they can charge for it.
CNET Editors' Rating 3 of 5 stars. Meh. http://reviews.cnet.com/speakers-speaker-systems/jbl-onbeat-air/4505-6467_7-35171450.html
I already have the Altec Lansing iMT630, so I'm out...but. Wait till iPhone 5 comes out with the next gen. 9 pin connector...and the (future Woot) price on this JBL dock will drop...like a rock.
Yes
can you hook up multiple units together?
