No. You need enough space for the 4 blades to be inserted around the weed. For weeds growing through cracks there isn't a place to pisition the tool.

I received my weeder today. Fast shipping, and this thing is great! It's actually fun to use. It's really easy to pull weeds out of the ground, and I don't have to bend over to do it. I was just going to go outside to test it out, and I ended up popping weeds out of my lawn for a half hour. It's so easy to use that it feels like I'm cheating! Check out some of the videos that have been posted. It's really as easy to use as it looks!

yep; got mine today and couldn't wait to try it...it works good; pulling out a lot of weeds by the root i normally would only top off...key is, don't use it on hard ground; you'll only break off that plastic foot sooner than later...but in soft to "normal" soil, this tool rips'em up and out...

Still waiting for mine. Tracking shows it's somewhere in California, even though I live in Texas.

I am loving mine. I had a major weed problem in the back yard and this thing handled the work with, if not ease, at least less work than by hand. Only thing better would be if I could convince my teenage son that it is FUN and get him to use it. LOL Not holding my breath.
