Are you saying that netflix was slow or of poor quality on the Galaxy?

Spiky wrote:IDK about "awesome", maybe you should check the link in my post instead.

Oh, and flash media sucks on this tablet. (and everything else) My son basically can't play any of the flash games he likes and much video is questionable. YouTube is ok. I think Hulu is ok, but he mostly uses Netflix, anyway.

There's a reason Adobe quit.

But "Bird" is THE WORD, right? Or is it "Grease"? YEAH! GREASE IS TH' WORD! That was a good movie. Yeah, slick. Sandy wore nice clothes too! Good thing she didn't sneeze! I am typing this out on the very same tablet being offered here today. I have owned it for about 4 months and use it ever day. Its very useful for reading since there's a kindle app and nook app in he Google play store. With Google music syncing my music I their cloud I don't have to use all my memory for my collection either. I have a class 10 16 GB SD card in it that I fill up with movies and TV shows and with MX video player from the market I can play anything I throw at it. Its a great size to keep bedside as a reader or for movies/Netflix web browsing... whatever my needs are. With the expandable memory and ir blaster that enables me to control my TV or any TV for that matter I highly recommend this tablet to anyone thats on the fence.

I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 & love it! Much more useful than a Kindle Fire...

Costco is selling new versions of this model online for $249.99 (including shipping) with Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

Weak sauce for the price. Even when released, it was under powered. Would buy for $99.

I own one of these and enjoy using it as it fits in my coat pocket (am a surgeon). The only beef I have with it and Android are despite the 64gB microSD card I put into it, it ran out of application memory and I had to uninstall apps to get it to run. Looking into this, I found that you can fix this by going into the Terminal app and tweaking the Linux underneath the Android, but who wants to do this except for adults who play Minecraft? This gets ditched as soon as the small iPad comes out. Battery only good for about 5 hrs. To Samsung's credit, they have been periodically updating the OS over the air (just this week to 4.04). This kind of support is rare in Android, where most manufacturers (that's you Motorola) would rather have you upgrade by buying a new device).

Motorola has been great about upgrading the OS on my Xoom. I got upgraded to ICS in a reasonable time and have had Jelly Bean for a while now.

This is super tempting - I own the first-gen Galaxy Tab 7.0 and I love the darned thing, the size is perfect and it runs apps nearly flawlessly. The only thing I don't like is Samsung didn't provide support to upgrade from Gingerbread, and since I bought it from Verizon I can't crack it (well, easily, anyway) to upgrade it.

For $175 it's worth not dealing with the hassle :D

The latest version of Android is 4.359 "Tuna Fish Sandwhich, not the endangered sushi blue fin kind of tuna, the other ones, w/ mayo on rye and slightly toasted." Everyone knows that; you should be keeping up w/ it better...just saying.

I have the Tab 2 7 and use it every day for music, movies, books, browsing, and Temple Run.

I am able to watch Hulu Plus and Netflix on it easily without lag. A complicated website might take a little longer to load than I want, but nothing severe. This is a great tablet, at a great price here.

So, I have owned this SGT27 since it was released. I absolutely love this tablet.

1. Build quality is excellent, feels solid, small, easy to hold, ect..

2. For the most part, everything just works. Email, MS Exchange Email, most apps I have tried, don't ever really even need to reboot due to loses in performance. But I am serious, everything works all the time!

3. Samsung has released 4 updates to date. They have supported this tablet. Jelly Bean is just around the corner. Official beta rom's from Samsung are available for JB.

4. I use this for home and work and it does the job. Its small enough to take with me everywhere, but large enough to do most jobs.

So, in a world of new tablets every 3 months, can't really comment on what is best, but I can say this is a good tablet.

Let me know if you have specific questions.

Oh, and the Touch Wiz, is seamless, and does offer some nice features. I don't feel is slows anything down.

Swype is a program for making input on the onscreen keyboard easier. You drag your finger from letter to letter, rather than tapping (as you would on iOS devices). Once you get the hang of it, it's really fast.

DonKudler wrote:Yeah....I'd like to have an SD slot on my Nexus 7...

Easy fix for this problem:

Just buy a OTG cable on Amazon (about $.65 delivered), the app “Nexus Media Importer” and now you have a solution to the lack of an SD card slot. Not perfect but works great (you have a 4” cable hanging on your Nexus). Now you can stream all the movies or music you want on your Nexus from a flash drive. The only limit is the size or number of your flash drives you own.

I've owned the Samsung Tab2 10.1 and the 7.0. The 10.1 is a great responsive screen but I found I wasn't using it away from home because it was so big! So, I bought the SGT2 7 and was immediately disappointed with the screen responsiveness. It was frustrating having to touch the same spot several times to get a response. I tried a second 7 to make sure it wasn't a bad one. I don't know what is different between the screens, but out was very obvious within a few minutes. Now I have a refurbed 8.9 and so far I'm in tablet nirvana! ICS and the same basic hardware as the 10.1. Perfect size for me but I have larger hands and older eyes. :-)

I am looking at purchasing a 7 inch tablet and the Galaxy 2 and Nexus are at the tip of my list. However the HTC Flyer 2 is rumored to appearing soon. I am looking for some thoughts on what you all think since you know more than I do about this stuff. I want to do email, surf, watch moves/ tv. Do some google docs stuff. And yes I don't have a smart phone so I want to take FB pics. So help me out with your thoughts, please.
