These things are really useful under a desk in winter to keep your feet warm and help dry your boots.

There's also the added bonus of them being much less prone to smoldering things and catching fire than the old school space heaters.

The world needs to be colder, not hotter. Ban all heaters. Put an air conditioner on it instead.

I wonder if it could still 'perm' my Barbie dolls' hair like the old school ones did? Granted, Barbie's face melted off if we put her too close, but her hair looked good!

Honestly, it's 41 degrees where I'm at and this heater looks REALLY good right about now. I hate cranking the heater on and off every day this time of year.

Once again I am terribly disappointed in a product that does not fully disclose everything in the blurb - how many watts is this thing...?

Anytime I see something Vornado I'm tempted to buy it.

"If the heater is accidently tipped over, it will automatically shut off power to the heating element. When returned to upright position it will resume to normal operation"

so can i run it as just a fan in summer without the heat without putting the thing upside down?

I'm with you. The ONLY pertinant spec on ANY heater, is the wattage.

Anyone in Woot! headquarters find out the wattage?

At least this automatically shuts off if it's tipped over i guess. That's good to have to make sure your house doesn't fire.

i agree! my vornado fan that looks nearly identical to this heater is the best fan i've ever purchased.

Only thing I found, outside of links here, was something at BBB, that kinda looked like this one, but not the same.

It's a room we made in the garage. I would say about 2/3rds of the garage is the room, and the 1/3 is the laundry room, which will not need to be heated. I would also factor in poor insulation.

Tempted to buy this, but I'm a little concerned with the lack of information about this specific heater.

Have one; doesn't work very well as a fan, and the thermostat control has no hysteresis in the design at all, so at the set point,it clicks on for a split second and turns right back off again. It uses a plain relay so it sparks each time it does this-
Only way to avoid it is to crank it up high enough to override the thermostat from operating.

I bought one of the Vornado Fans and I decidely "WAS NOT IMPRESSED"

I'm in the same boat. Also would like to hear more reviews about the thermostat shutting off too quickly. Won't do me much good in Minnesota...

I hope s(he) is responding to you because I used to have a woot-bought Vornado table top fan where the fan is clamped to the base and can be removed for convenient placement. It worked great until the fourth or fifth time it was dropped. After that, not so much. I've searched for another one like it and can't find it anywhere!

Do I need a dedicated circuit? is it a 120 volt.

That one doesn't look like the one for sale here, and "mostly" constitutes most of the 6 reviews. So I wouldn't put too much weight on that.
