Not bad, but not in the market for a laptop.

I haven't seen too many woot offs but I'm not enjoying this one...

I'm surprised at how the expensive things are actually moving at a pretty good pace.

I could use a new laptop. I like the specs. I like 17' laptops. Any reason I shouldn't buy?

I kind of wanna say "it is an HP that is reason enough"
But depending on what your usage plans are this could be a good buy, as long as you accept that it WILL break in less than a year and you won't be able to get HP's horrendous customer service to help...

Not a bad deal on this laptop.

Pros: Quad Core Sandy Bridge CPU, decent dedicated graphics, good audio

Cons: Not Full HD resolution (900p is still WAY better than the standard 1366*768), slow hard drive.

Get this and upgrade to a cheap SSD (or 7200RPM drive if you need more space) and you've got a nice setup.

I gobbled up the laptop on tech.woot. This one looks the same except 2.0 GHz instead of 2.2 GHz and different video card and $100 more. But with it being new I would have probably taken this one if I knew it was coming.

I have a 17 inch i3 HP laptop and I love it. Two parts on this laptop at least are the same as mine: one, that extended battery, cost me over $125 at retail, since mine just came with a standard flat one.

They also use the same DVD drive. I swapped mine out with an aftermarket hard drive caddy.

Also 2 things you can't do with a mactop.

Except that my HP has been going since 2008 and that my HP laptop since 2009. The have performed flawlessly
