Wootalyzer's Pricing Post! - The price of today's woot item is saved here for future reference------------------------------------------------------------Stamina AeroPilates Performer 271$199.99 + $5 Standard ShippingCondition: New*DISCLAIMER* Wootalyzer! is in no way affiliated with Woot!, and this post may not always be here!
OK, I gotta know. What chemical does this contain that the State of California thinks I need to be warned about? (referring to the reference to Prop. 65 in the features.)
It looks like the woot sale broke their website, so I'll give the training video in the meantime (not sure if it's exact model, but probably doesn't matter): With how quiet it is, I'm guessing everyone's studying up to vote today.
I have a 10 year old version of this device, and it's still holding up. My only warning is that it's limited on how much tension you can use; there are 4 elastic bands, but for me that's still not enough for some of the exercises (and I'm not that fit!)
maybe if the girl came with it as a coach...

It took almost 40 minutes to get this comment. Disappointed, I am.
The WootBot only has 11 quality posts?
This meets all the essential criteria for a "contraption". As in, "hey Bill, what's that CONTRAPTION you have hanging out in the shed?" "Oh...that thigamajig over there, next to the doohikkey under the whatchamacallit?". "yup, beside the Whazit." "Durned if I know." "put er in the lawn sale Bill."

Too low to hang clothes on even.
Is this the feminine version of Chuck Norris' Total Gym?? I thought there was a female advertising that as well!
What does it mean that "Stand not included"?

Looks like that was in the manufacturer's copy. I found a picture of a different model on their site with the stand. The stand is not in our picture.
That girl looks kind of tiny and the machine fits her fine. Would this machine also fit a gangly 6ft middle aged man?

That is a different model, 271 has no stand. http://www.staminaproducts.com/products/product_details.cfm?PID=55-4271&cat=Pilates Does anyone know differences between 271 and reformer, other than stand?
It appears as if the 271 does not require a stand; the manufacturer's website here seems to sell it just like the picture shows it. And as was pointed out earlier, it's not as easy to hang clothes off it, but perhaps easier to stub a toe on it. Maybe that would drive me to use it, even if spitefully.
That girl's legs seem to be miniaturized...

It almost is. Wife has a slightly different model sitting next to my Total Gym. The Total Gym is better for hanging clothes, but the Pilates has a comfy pad for the cat to lie on. But, for the first 2 weeks when you actually use it before the cat gets it, it's actually a good workout. You won't get drenched in sweat and it's good, low-impact strength and stretching.
I thought the sale was to buy 1 at twice the price and get one FREE!
Stamina Products does sell the stand for this model separately. It's product 55-4050, and is $149.99. Given that the site lists the 271 for $549.99 new, this is getting more tempting.

Correct, it is a different model. Just a picture of one with a stand. I couldn't find the stand on the site but an eagle eyed wooter above found it.
Amazon has the stand for $109 Or Qvc.com for $106
LOL @ the midget legs on the chick.
what is this stand we speak of? Can I successfully use this contraption for two weeks before giving it over to the cats without said stand??
You don't need the stand. I have this same machine, granted it is over five years old now, and it is great. It definitely takes some time to get things set up, but it is surprisingly easy to store and use. If you need replacement parts or accessories, their customer service is great and very helpful. I bought mine for the same price over five years ago from QVC.

well master yoda, if only I had been on sooner.
I choose to develop my stamina vicariously through the model performing the exercising. I feel strong like bull already.

My husband is 6ft 2 and he has used mine. I have an older version and I love it!

I thought her legs looked really short too. When I first looked, I thought she was an amputee. Too much Walking Dead for me.
Obviously wooters are a perfectly proportioned bunch if they are complaining the models legs are too short. I too have proportion issues, unfortunately I'm too short for my weight, after calculating a perfect BMI- I should be about 7'11".
Tall people need not apply.
I'm 5'1"; I was too short to use the Total Gym effectively and ended up giving it to my (5" taller) sister. Will I be able to use this machine considering my munchkin-ness?
Folks who have this - is there a way to add tension? Even just by adding bungee cords or something like that? I work out with pretty high springs at the studio and wondering if the cords on this one won't be stiff enough for me.

That's what she said. Yes, you can add thicker cords which have more resistance.
As an indication of their product quality I have been using my Stamina 1205 rowing machine regularly for 3 years without issues.
