How about: Not really a fan of any of them! Weekends are my holidays. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the extra day or two off here and there, but I can skip the "traditions".

I like Christmas and it's commercialism. It's my day for giving people the things that they *want*, rather than need since I don't really do random gift giving throughout the year. I'm not religious, so I see it more as a day for family.

My least favorite holiday is Labor Day, since the majority of the labor force isn't even allowed the day off. It's just another day for most people.

Valentine's Day. It's just silly. Love the people all the days. That's what I say.

Easter for sure! It's cold muddy - I never got an easter basket. And it's on a Sunday... there is no recovery or travel day for Monday.

So I'm in the 1% here too. Somebody once said, if you don't give any gifts, you won't receive any. I can tell you that's not true, unfortunately. I've been fighting this for 30 years now and haven't quite gotten there yet.

Christmas and Easter are, in concept, my favorite holidays, I just despise the implementation of Christmas.

And yes, there is the matter that Christmas comes with 2 weeks off from work, now that's a good deal.

I wonder if folk are aware they don't have to give into the commercial side in order to celebrate Christmas ... oh, wait, judging by their answers I guess they don't.

Valentine's day. When you are solo, it sorta sucks.

I do not stay up till midnight most nights, but I still find New Year's the most depressing night on the calendar, even worse than birthdays. Last year I didn't even make it to midnight!

I can't believe only one person mentioned Election Day. +1 for that!
Oh, and as for the commercialization of Christmas, I do believe kids should get presents, but once you're an adult (or at least adults aged) you get a card and be thankful for it.

Exactly what I was going to say

People complain about stores stocking Christmas stuff so early, but they need to prepare early for the swarms that come in after Thanksgiving - and it certainly helps our economy at the very least. I'm not religious either so I'm not taking up for it because of that.

Valentine's Day is much worse. Its purpose is to do what people normally do and just makes people that are single feel bad, and going out isn't any fun anyways since it is super crowded everywhere. My gf and I have never bothered going out on Valentine's Day because of that.

That one gets my vote. Not as big a problem now that I live in a state where fireworks are really, really illegal, but I spent too much time in bad neighborhoods to have any fondness left for July 4. Real fireworks displays are cool; wishbones setting off M-80s under your window, not so much.

I think it's the pressure to buy all those presents and cards that is the real issue. In a perfect world I'd rather just buy presents for people as I see things that make me think of them. Instead there's this countdown to Dec25 pressure to get something for everyone and it's SUPER aggrivating and stressful. I would gladly sign off on never recieving ANY presents (not just for Christmas) to have that pressure removed.

A friend introduced me to a wonderful concept: exchange no presents, but in it's place have the family 'adopt' a less fortunate family to help through the holidays with what they need: food, clothes and of course a few gifts for children.

We have done it once and it really brought us closer as a family. We're just waiting to be assigned a new family for this year's holiday.

I have to say that St. Crispin's day is the worst - my manhood just feels so cheapened by missing out on Agincourt. Really, it's a curse.

Easter.. it get frowned upon for thinking it's all about the chocolate

Superbowl Sunday is one of the most worthless holidays I've ever seen. I see more parties & more people maneuvering to take off Superbowl Sunday than all of the other holidays put together and I've had more awkward family conversations than at all of the others put together as well thanks to the prevalence of beer.

On a side note, I would like to thank Superbowl Sunday for this commercial.

I love Christmas. I just don't like when people get so busy they forget what the day is about-Hope.
My least favorite is New Year's Eve. This is just an excuse for people to get drunk, act stupid, and then try to drive home.
