So is this just for iStuff or will it work on anything that charges via USB?

1000 mah is a really small battery. Hell, a 2400 mah external pack will keep my iphone charged like ~6 hours at most of general use. Let alone playing music the whole time

These are great to extend the recording time on those small microvideo cameras - and you don't have to run wires to it so great for walkaround costumes during halloween too. Get one early for next year!

Reviews appear to be abysmal on Amazon. Steer clear if you want something that keeps a charge for a long time, charges well, and is quiet, apparently.

Anything that charges via USB. But like DBayer said, 1000maH is tiny. An external power pack should supply 3500+.

would it be good enough to charge a kindle/kindle fire?

Not liking the online reviews about this.

Well, I wanted it for my LetCool which only has like a 800 or so mah battery in it to begin with.

But after seeing the amazon reviews... I'll pass.

Bought two a few weeks ago, one DOA, the other died after two weeks.

Somehow the same stuff that goes over like a lead balloon keeps coming back.

This has to work with anything that charges via USB - but be careful - it's not very strong nor does it hold a lot of power - it's not even as big a battery as the original iPhone battery, so it wouldn't completely charge a dead iPhone.

NO.

Kindle Fire is a 4400mah battery. These are 1000mah, so you would need 5 of them for one charge.

For a tablet, I'd look for something in the 8000-15000 mah range. That way you can get 2-3 charges off it.

Come on and sell out so I have one more chance before my free shipping runs out.

Micro USB?

Micro A, or Micro B?

My cellphone uses B, and if this is indeed B, the cable would be worth the price.

Junk picked one up last time before reading review high pitch noise when trying to charge my galaxy s3 gave it to good will....

I'd go for this instead. Higher capacity, better reviews, and around the same price.

Significantly more than 5 since you inherently lose something in the conversion, charging a battery with a battery isn't exactly the most efficient proposition, and at that price they're surely not using efficient DC/DC circuitry.

By way of example, I have a generic 5000mAH pack that recharges the 1400mAH battery in my phone 0-100% twice ... if I think good thoughts, the planets are in alignment, and I last recharged the external battery less than 24 hours ago.

This thing likely will be doing well if it puts 500mAH into the receiving device.

I believe so, if you do it fast enough, though customer service.

1000 maH is just too small to justify the size of the thing. My powerpack for my S3 has a 2500 maH battery and it's much smaller.

Speaking of this, Woot, is an online cancellation feature in the works?

While it does make a high pitched noise for the first minute or so, in my experience these have quieted down soon after. And they were extremely useful during Hurricane Sandy...Certainly worth the $8 for me.

I'm not even sure what this would be useful for. You can expect a 30% conversion loss, at best. So this thing is 700mAh max.

If you're lucky you could charge half of you phone battery.
