The cards are also numbered. Put the cards in order and you get the order of the letters? The "rules" say to assemble the clues into a word. Not a phrase, but a word. And if the word isn't an in the dictionary word, but rather a made up word with no meaning consisting of 12 letters. That would mean the last letter could go in any of the twelve spots, depending on the number of the card. So any one of the 26 letters could go in any one of the 12 spots, creating 26 * 12, or 312, possible combinations. The random lettered word idea might help make it so people have to actually play along. And someone coming to the party late and trying to guess the word without any of the clues would have to guess the right 1 out of 95,428,956,661,682,200 combinations.
