This is about as useful as....a USB powered fridge.

Could this be plugged into a USB outlet in a car and still function? Anyone know for sure?

jandrese

quality posts: 2 Private Messages jandrese

There is no way something powered by a USB port is going to be able to cool down a can of liquid in any reasonable amount of time. At best it might be able to keep a can that is already cold from warming up.

There is a very good chance that it will work fine when plugged into one of those car or wall port USB chargers. Well, not work any worse at least.

Technically, shouldn't this be called a pico-fridge? Mini is what you see in a college dorm.

I spent all night watching the woot-off and all I got was this lousy Western Digital respiffied and a Screaming Monkey wearing a cape. I honestly don't know why I still have a girlfriend.

What a cool product

My first quality post was about the Pokedex. Awesome.

Bought one of these a while ago - it will keep a cold can cold, but doesn't cool them that much. One warning - I lost a little rubber foot on the bottom, and it vibrates like crazy, making a lot of racket.

OK Woot, step it up - I've only bought 2 things in the last 13 months

tomm2thumbs

quality posts: 27 Private Messages tomm2thumbs

Does that mean you are going to buy another one to replace the foot?

I think that's probably the idea. Bring a can from the home or work fridge and keep it in there at your desk until you're ready to drink it.

Is this compatible with a PIP-Boy?

CooperDude

quality posts: 10 Private Messages CooperDude

According to a review this will only chill a can of soda about 7 degrees down from room temp. It might keep a cold can of soda from warming up, but won't take a room temp soda and make it chilly.

So is the trading card thing over?
I just logged in and I'm way behind. So there's a Y in this trading card.

I'm assuming their joking about the Big Ol' Cataclysm not being shipped with the shirt.

These are cool looking but rarely has a bigger waste of money been invented. Just get some ice and a bucket, you're better off.

I cant Imagine this uses a compressor, can you confirm the cooling method? I'm guessing a bi-metalic system like auto coolers so I would expect it to do no better than 15 degrees below ambient. Can you confirm?

Oh so tempting... my 15 yo asked for a mini fridge for Christmas. I don't think this is what he meant by it ;)

What a waste of materials.

Stupid novelty idea. More junk destined for a landfill. This single can USB fridge will be the ultimate downfall of humanity.
