This is about as useful as....a USB powered fridge.

Could this be plugged into a USB outlet in a car and still function? Anyone know for sure?

There is no way something powered by a USB port is going to be able to cool down a can of liquid in any reasonable amount of time. At best it might be able to keep a can that is already cold from warming up.

There is a very good chance that it will work fine when plugged into one of those car or wall port USB chargers. Well, not work any worse at least.

Technically, shouldn't this be called a pico-fridge? Mini is what you see in a college dorm.

Bought one of these a while ago - it will keep a cold can cold, but doesn't cool them that much. One warning - I lost a little rubber foot on the bottom, and it vibrates like crazy, making a lot of racket.

Does that mean you are going to buy another one to replace the foot?

I think that's probably the idea. Bring a can from the home or work fridge and keep it in there at your desk until you're ready to drink it.

According to a review this will only chill a can of soda about 7 degrees down from room temp. It might keep a cold can of soda from warming up, but won't take a room temp soda and make it chilly.

These are cool looking but rarely has a bigger waste of money been invented. Just get some ice and a bucket, you're better off.

I cant Imagine this uses a compressor, can you confirm the cooling method? I'm guessing a bi-metalic system like auto coolers so I would expect it to do no better than 15 degrees below ambient. Can you confirm?

So instead of taking my soda from the work fridge, my thieving colleagues will take my usb-powered fridge AND my soda! Brilliant!

No rather I was looking for the pot I hid when I was 15 in that dam USB fridge I got from the future that never worked anyways on my 8080 computer

I bought 10 of these last year at JC Penney for $2.00 each after Christmas. Could barely sell them on ebay for $10.00
