I like cheap watches like these for beach wear. According to the Crow website, the Sprout is water resistant for 3 atmospheres--more than enough for snorkeling and casual beach play.

Yes. It is a seconds counter.

There is also a date display on this watch as well. But to access the date display you can't really be wearing the watch, because you have to push an 'indented button' on the BACK of the watch face.

Additionally the button is so small you can only push it with something much smaller than a finger (such as a ball point pen tip or earring stud). Does it really take a human interface specialist to recognize that FAIL? But hey, for 6 bucks...

Bought my Mom 2 of these, a red one and a black one. She really likes them both. They are nice because she is allergic to metals and all that touches her is the rubber band. The small fits her perfectly.

I'm allergic to metals, too, and was wondering about this. Is the back of the watch completely covered by silicone?

No. The back is silicone, plastic, and two very small, (slightly recessed) metal buttons. (See pic)

I bought one for the times when my last watch purchase from woot would get ruined

I bought one of these during the last wootoff. It lasted for exactly 3 days, then started to develop a sort of condensation/fog on the inside that completely obscured the minute side.

Waste of money imo.

I bought five of these last time they were offered (every color but pink) because I tend to be rough on watches and figured the lack of buckles on the band would be good for me. I like them so far. Too bad Crow didn't make more colors, I'd have bought more! I was away from four of them for a few days (wearing the fifth), and when I got back, I found that a few of them had been running slow, one by several minutes. Not a deal breaker, though, for a cheap watch that shouldn't be so quick to snap on me. Might just be a matter of changing the battery. I've gotten five watches for the price of two of the normal type I get, so I'm more than satisfied.

Mine shipped in separate boxes, so if you don't want that, maybe try contacting Woot about it.

The watch does not fit snug on her wrist, and the metal that is there is so small, it hasn't caused any problems for her.

If she did break out we would probably just cover the little metal spots with tape.

A friend of mine also has a metal allergy issue - he has found luck with coating the back of the watch with clear nail polish.

I want to get this for my 6 yr old granddaughter. Do you think it will fit or is the band (small) too large?

No, and they don't have any mystical Eastern holograms, but they still provide all the strength and balance of the other bands.

It will probably be huge on her. The specs say 16cm around for the small/medium. That's about 6.25 inches. I bought that size for a 9yr old girl, and it is like a very large bangle bracelet on her. Her hands are big enough that it won't easily fall off, but the watch face always slides underneath her wrist instead of on top of it. I think she liked it anyway. (probably because it's purple?)

I've been using mine for a couple of days now, and even with a direct hit to the face by a stick during kali practice, the watch is in one piece!

I love that I can abuse this watch unlike my more expensive watch.
