AVI is just a container... you can still use whatever CoDecs within that container that suit your fancy. The fact that they use AVI only limits you in the fact that you can't use 5.1 audio CoDecs, and since I am betting this thing only has a monaural microphone, that should not be an issue.

The good side of them using AVI, is depending on the video CoDec they use, it could be played on just about any device out there capable of playing a video file, rather than the limited subset of devices that support containers such as MKV.

Well, I can tell you they are handy for Repo-Men... There is a guy on YouTube with an entire channel dedicated to him showing what it is like to be a Repo-Man. He records every single Repo, using these glasses, to document it in case of damage to the vehicle, or hostile prior-owners, to avoid legal issues. He can't stop talking about how many times having these recordings has saved his butt. His channel is called RepoNut.

Is there anywhere I can see the full specs on these? Such as does it use an SD card or a mini SD card? Is it a rechargeable battery or triple A batteries or what?
