Could refurb simply mean a return?

Walmart has 47" LG 47LM4600 1080p 120Hz 3D LED HDTV $598 + Free shipping.

Now until Super Bowl is when most TV's are sold and a lot of good deals. Pass on this one.

Actually, the quality control on refurb units is usually better than new. I have bought several refurb items with no issues. I would not be afraid.
My two cents.

Got a refurb 47" Visio TV and have been VERY pleased with it. Good deep blacks and must better contrast than our 42" LG.

I bought the refurb 42" version of this set about 4 months ago, damn good TV set, the passive 3D is so much better than the active "shutter" 3D tech
