And it goes from bad to worse...

They sold the 17" with the i5 processor last night for $100 cheaper. Anyone who bought that one is going to be pissed!

By the way, this deal is actually really good. Apple's got nothing close to it, and if I'm not mistaken, they don't make the 17" model anymore. And with a Core i7...BUY NOW!

Argh! This is the one I want! 45 days too early! Waaaaahhhhhh!!!!

Does anybody know if you can get an AppleCare warranty with a refurb?

You should be able to buy Applecare for any Apple certified refurbed item. You have one year from date of purchase to buy Applecare.

An interesting discussion about the differences between the i5 and i7 models.

There seems to only be one - and no one wants it.

This looks like an early 2011 model ... the one I have is slightly upgraded from this. I'd buy it if I didn't already have one

Like the one offered before, this is a relatively older MBP (probably mid 2010). That's nearly 3 years old. The processor in it is pre-Sandy Bridge, and probably more important than i5 vs. i7 is the fact that the architecture on this one is ancient.

Quite honestly, the new dual core Ivy Bridge i5s would outperform this.

Yes, I saw that...one year is standard on new Macs, too. I'm taking about an add-on AppleCare warranty, which you can add on to a new New Year. I'm wondering if Apple will sell you that for a refurb.

Confirmed. This is MC024LL/A, originally introduced in mid 2010 and discontinued in feb, 2011. It uses the M 620 Arrandale processor, not Sandy Bridge.
