No problem. My bro-in-law made a family photo calendar and sent to me. I mentioned to him that I would use it to fill in the space currently occupied by my Woot2012 calendar since it didn't look like I would be getting a Woot2013 calendar.

I bought this same watch a number of years ago. First off, yes, Invicta watches have terribly inflated MSRPs, but this is still a deal compared to the original actual price. I paid at least double this four years ago for a used one.

I think the Russian Diver series is pretty cool, and while it is not for everyone, it did elicit more compliments than anything I've worn to date. Everyone says it is huge for a reason. I thought I could pull off any watch as a big guy, but this thing is gargantuan, pretty much dwarving any other watch I've ever seen.

One drawback is the rubber strap. After a year or so of normal use my rubber strap cracked in half.

This price tag is low for something that makes the statement "my watch is bigger than yours." Nobody will be able to dispute that. Nobody.

I knew nothing about Russian watches, Soviet watches, diver watches, or Invicta watches before seeing this woot. But I do remember some Russian....

I think genuine Cyrillic digits would be counterproductive for divers, who (I assume) need clear readouts of the time and would be bogged down by a system that hasn't been used for a couple of hundred years. It would be entertaining for us non-divers, though. :-)

The legend, "ИМФ СССР" is curious ... one would expect "ВМФ СССР" for something claiming to be a military watch or to be an accurate copy of one. "ВМФ СССР" means, bottom-line, "Soviet Navy."

I didn't investigate what an ИМФ would be. Maybe it's a nod to fake Rolex watches labeled "Bolex" etc. Maybe some smarty replaced the word "military" in ВМФ with "Invicta," resulting in ИМФ.

It's modeled on the Zlatoust 191-ChS, aka Triton which was manufactured for Russian divers in the 1950s, designed to be worn over a diving suit, which has a lot to do with its size.

A watch to get you started collecting but then......time to move on. Which I did quite a while ago. As previously noted in this forum, Invicta's MSRP's are greatly inflated. Although Woot's price is more than fair.

I don't own this particular model of Russian Diver, but I own other versions of this watch. The watch is huge and I mean HUGE. The diameter is 52 meters, which is just a little over two inches on your wrist. I have two or three Russian Diver's, which I haven't pulled out of my drawer in years. But I look back on those purchases with a "what was I thinking?" frame of mind.

If you're a big guy, (sorry ladies, don't mean to discriminate), over 6 foot tall, and not thin wristed, then you can pull the Russian Diver off without looking totally ridiculous.

The rest of us....not so much.

Don't buy this watch. I own two. Regret ever buying such a piee of junk. You will as well.

Quite right, I should have said 52 millimeters in diameter, not meters. It's a huge watch but not that huge.

I regret the error and will spend the remainder of 2013 with my head down in shame!

The MSRP seems exaggerated considering a quick search the watch reveals it can be bought for less then $200. But if this is the watch of your dreams, then this is the BEST price!

In terms if size, the watch this was modeled after is actually 58mm. In more practical terms, this watch is as big as a Nikon lens cap while the original was as big as a Canon lens cap.

The size has more to do with the fact that Zlatoust wasn't in the business of making wristwatches at the time so they just built the case to fit a pocket watch movement. The Invicta is smaller than the Zlatoust.

Why? Because this is the least comfortable watch I've ever worn in my life due to the dial. It sticks out half an inch or so and drives itself into the top of your hand any time you move to the point that it can bruise your hand.

Looks great but feels painful when you wear it.

I wonder if it would be more comfortable worn on your right wrist to avoid the stem hitting your hand?

Can someone at Woot confirm how much is Swiss. The specs page lists the movement as "Swiss Quartz" but all legible photos of the back I saw elsewhere said "Swiss Parts Movement".

I purchased one of these pieces of crap about 5 years ago. I don't remember the exact wording, but the fine print in the manual said something along the lines of "Made in Japan with Swiss inspired craftsmanship".

So to answer your question I would say- none.

Also- FYI - I had my watch less than 2 weeks and the band broke. No problem I thought, has a warranty. Warranty requires you to pay to send the watch in, along with a $30 payment to cover return shipping and handling costs. It also stated that it may take 6 to 8 weeks to get back. They claim the reason for the slow turnaround time is that they are so concerned with quality that every watch is put through a 30 day "accuracy" check.

I just went to Wally World and had a band installed for $10.

This is an inferior product from an inferior company. Steer clear.

Everyone of the descriptions and warnings are correct. Giant on your wrist, catches on most anything because it sticks out so far, and the chain is silly and makes me wiggle it on my wrist constantly to get the chain out from under the watch back.

One more point, the rubber strap is NOT pliable. The strap refuses to conform to your wrist. This makes it stick out even more.

My Invicta Russian Diver watch is an excellent addition to my very old, unused swatch collection in the back of my sock drawer.

No, it's not for everyone. Small wristers may not like this one.

The crown pointing to my wrist has never bothered me, YMMV.

The BEST part:

I get compliments all the time on this watch, it's a great conversation starter. A celebrity I met even asked me where he could get one... made me feel pretty cool.

The BAD part:

The watchband will age. I got my watch in 2010 and a few months ago the loop keepers (the small loops that hold the strap to the watch) broke. No big deal, right? Called Invicta and was told it would be like a dollar per loop keep. I got 6. Be warned: It took 2 months for them to arrive and 3 of the 6 were not the same as the others for whatever reason. Considering it took 2 months to get them I didn't try to correct the issue.

The WORST part:

By the time I got the loop-keepers on the watch, I noticed that the band hand been developing micro-cracks all over the place (due to age), like you'd see on an old tire. I was told by Invicta that I could buy a replacement band for about $60. Not worth it considering the watch is $70.

I've retired the watch till I can find an aftermarket bracelet to replace the old band on there now.

I am tempted to buy this one though! Only $10 more than the band alone!
