Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?
f) I like singing Jazz, but don't much care for listening to Jazz. Weird, huh.
The only jazz I like is hands.

Ha! Nice.
I used to not have any knowledge of jazz whatsoever, until about 6 years ago, I'd say... I used to own a vintage 1997 Ford Escort, and one freezing cold winter day I had an electrical malfunction in my factory stereo that caused the radio to only work on one station. A jazz station. Everything else was radio silence, but this jazz station came in crystal clear. I learned a lot about jazz during my time with that car, and I learned to respect it. Jazz, not the car. I hated that car.
Don't know that I could identify jazz in a police line-up, but I do so love the sound of screeching cats
That's awesome!!!
I wish there would have been an "Indifferent" option in this poll. Since I'm a *huge* music fan, I have a lot of respect for Jazz, but it's just not really my thing.
Just play the right notes!
I love jazz, apart from the abomination they call "smooth" jazz. Stuff like Kenny G or the stuff they play on the Weather Channel while you're waiting to see how much snow that NorEaster is going to dump on your part of the country. And I don't mean the groups or artists that do songs LIKE smooth jazz, but rather those artists that live in that neighborhood and enjoy being there...blech.
what music i like and listen to is very mood dependent. I like most jazz**, but only when I am in the mood for it. It goes well with certain wine, a bubble bath, cleaning house, kwim? btw love Kirk's jazz hands !! lol thanks for that ! ** someone mentioned kenny G and I almost lost it. gag that's not jazz that's elevator musik
The only Jazz I like is the Utah Jazz. They won last night so I'm happy right now.

Once you take the time to really listen to it you"ll understand....just like you did. But people now a days can't take the time. It's kind of sad.

Agreed on the Kenny G thing....he wouldn't know Jazz if it bit him on the ass.
I liked the score from SimCity 3000... does that count?
I love all kinds of jazz, especially screaming cats. Screaming cats evoke almost unused parts of the tonal spectrum and stimulate heightened responses in their listeners.
I like jazz, but need to be in the right mood. Nothing like good blusey jazz on a rainy day, or smokey jazz on a hot night. It's more song-related than era or artist related. And, I am so stealing that Kirk jazz-hands picture.
This next test is very dangerous. To help you remain tranquil in the face of almost certain death, smooth jazz will be deployed in 3... 2... 1...
So, for you people who really like jazz, which artists do you like? Would you consider (relative) newcomers like Diana Krall or Esperanza Spalding to be true jazz?
