A box jellyfish can be run over a boat and scatter deadly pieces throughout an entire diving expedition.

The bite from a blue ringed octopus can leave you unable to breathe for 12 hours. You'll be still aware and very awake while your friends and rescuers are giving you CPR.

There's that giant squid in Mariana's trench with the big eye. Kinda creeps me out.

Jellyfish, easy. Sharks have to decide to bite you. Jellies are just floating along and bam, you're dead.

This was a tough one...

I saw Jaws in the theater when it came out because my Grandma thought it'd be a good idea. I was about 7. D'oh!

I've also heard jellyfish horror stories. But they always seem to be stories told by a "friend of a friend".

I picked stingray. Thankfully, I don't have first hand experience. But I watched a coworker get carted off the beach in an ambulance in South Florida because he didn't shuffle his feet.

The ocean is scary. There's way too much life out there. Good news is... we're putting an end to that pretty quickly!

I was going to vote for the Giant Squid too. They come up from the depths, and will grab a swimmer and haul them back down without batting an eye. At least sharks can be dissuaded by striking on the nose and eye area. The squid just wrap you up and you're gone. Shivers!

Touche. (But in all honesty, didn't just about everyone know it was coming. You just can't get that cozy with dangerous critters so many times before your number comes up. I kinda thought it was going to be a croc that was going to take him out.)

Dolphin is my pick, Flipper might look nice and friendly but why don't you ask the trainer at Sea World why they won't get in the water with him? I have seen dolphin in the wild gather rocks in their mouth and spit them at land animals. Remember that Bambi looks cute but Deer kill more people than any other wildlife out there, but they are so cute that no one thinks they are dangerous, just like Dolphins.

Sea Horses. They are tiny but intimidating! Don't trust them!

yeah he was an Loco in the Coco. and it was a shame how the mom had the daughter singing and dancing after he died. like some celebrity parents forgot they are supposed to provide for their children, not the other way around.

If you turned this around and asked each of those animals who they were most afraid of and included "humans" among the choices...humans would win hands down ..i'm thinking 100%.

Scariest, none really. Here in South Florida, divers fear nothing. But the only creatures that would cancel a dive are jellyfish. They are not deadly, but the stings can be very painful.

I'd go with either the Humboldt squid or the bull shark, both of which have a history of aggression toward humans. No dice on the giant squid; for an animal to be scary, it has to show itself every now and then.

And then there's the creature from that documentary, "Cloverfield." It came from the ocean.

It's a giant pillbug. I think coming face to face with such a thing in real life would result in a huge therapy bill.

Anybody that voted for anything but jellyfish does not live on the coast where these things constantly patrol, just looking for their next victim.
