Poll: When it comes to soda, bottle, can or fountain?

  • 32% - Fountain, because it is clearly superior and you don’t even know. 990

Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

Coke in a can is by far the best BUT... you must not drink it out of the can. Start with a refrigerated can or one that is on ice. Fill a glass with ice. Wait, not just any ordinary glass, it must be a 24 ounce Tervis Tumber - the greatest drinking apparatus since the beer hat. When full with ice, extract the can of Coke from it's cold storage and begin the pour. It will fizz, a lot. Let that die down and finish filling the TT with the soda. It should fill to just below the top.

Once full take a good swig. It's the absolute best.

Ya see, Coke in a can is just too carbonated. It's great if you need that throat/bubble pain to wake you up in the AM but by pouring the Coke over ice, it releases exactly the right amount of carbonation to give it the perfect fiz content.

Fountain Coke can be absolutely great but it depends on the dispenser having the proper Brix and most places don't even know what a brix is. I'd say that McDonalds has consistently the best Coke.

Coke in a glass bottle is very good and seems to not have as much carbonation as a can. Because of that, I don't mind drinking it right the bottle, but not them plastic ones.

I love the "speciality" sodas that have become increasingly accessible.

Right now I'm addicted to ginger beer...
I don't know if it counts as soda, but it just tastes so darn good.

Favorite soda though is CUCUMBER SODA.
Yeah, you heard me...sounds disgusting, but no! Greatest. Soda. Ever.

Try one.

Ya got that right. Never run out of your favorite flavor again!

(Although I do wish they'd come out with a strawberry syrup, and start putting the grape in retail stores...)

I've been off the sauce for years now.

Plastic bottle with a twist top so I can save some for later if I want. Flavor wise a can of coke is the best unless you can get the retro-glass bottles and put some Planters peanuts in the bottle.

It's pop. And then fountain.

Seriously though, the guy who invented it called it pop. Show some respect!

Have you found any source of flavors that aren't either full of artificial sweetener or cost more than just buying regular sodas?

Yep, around here, we call it "pop".

I used to drink a lot of Diet Coke, but have since cut back to just enjoying it occasionally. Should cut back completely. Would usually get the bottle, because I could reseal it

I don't drink soda. As a native Pittsburgher, I always drink POP.

Fountain FTW!

And Coca-Cola Freestyle machines give you some bad ass selection. 100s of flavors out of a single machine!

I agree with this almost exactly (down to the Tervis tumbler), but substitute Dr Pepper as my soda of choice. If available, add a couple of pumps of vanilla syrup.

That said, I drink hot and sweet iced tea every day, but I have a soda only every 3-4 weeks.

Bring back Dublin Dr Pepper! That was the only non-diet soda I would drink.

Sodastream...
It rules because you can concoct your own flavors, as well as their pre-made flavors.

I make a nice spicy ginger flavor, kinda like Reeds, only with more of a bite.

Why bother with Soda when you can have beer. Of course I like a good Micro brew or a beer from the local brew pub myself. Forget the mass swill.
