These are some very expensive knives.

So... my wife was watching one of those shows on the cooking channel, and they had a fellow on there that was a chef, and got interested in making knives. Now, he makes knives in this style, using layered steel like this, and the cost? $500.00 ..........PER INCH!!!

Makes these seem pretty cheap.

Not the same - this woot is for an 8" Chef's knife and a 6" Serrated knife. The factory direct one is for an 8" Chef's knife and a 3.5" paring knife

was there a Bring Out Cadence yesterday? Left for a while and the bacon site had 2 pop-ups, but nothing showing int the list at the community link

That is actually a different two piece set that includes a 3 1/2" paring knife rather than the 6" serrated.

We have a set of 7 shuns and they are incredible. If anyone is in the market for new knives, I can't do enough to recommend this set. I used to have Henckels, and the Shuns make the Henckels feel dull. I would buy this in an instant if I didn't already have my Shuns.
