Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?
I want to answer this poll, but since you lumped Twilight and The Monster Squad in the same category I can't bring myself to do it.
Actually, there's no bad genre of fantasy, just bad executions within the genre.
Cowboy space pirate adventures! Nothing beats Serenity! Firefly is the best.
porno *hides*

Cowboy Bebop almost falls into this category. Doesn't it?
I, too, came here to whine about the lack of a Firefly option.

I lumped it under "Space Opera".
Yes, and "undead but not zombie" such as Dead Like Me.
What is "historical" about LotR?
daPC LOAD LETTER is wrong with the person who came up with this poll?
I was thinking post-apocalyptic.
Love Love Love that the poll mentions Babylon 5!
...involves some hottie actress or athlete!
Wooter to blame for sellout: SumDuud Sellout time: 8:11:25 AM Central Time
I dig Supernatural Noir, like "The Dresden Files" by Jim Butcher. That's been my favorite for a long time running now.
Musical, life should e a musical!
There is nothing "historical" about lord of the rings. If anything, LoTR should be lumped in the "magic" category with legend. There are some strange lumped-together genres going on in this poll... I'm going to pretend the awful monstrosity that is twilight never existed, and say monsters like REAL werewolves (the scary kind) and Frankensteins creation should be a category instead
Post-Apocalyptic Steampunk!
football
Come on, people! Barbarella http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbarella_%28film%29
ummmm harry potter, duh
...well written. There are classics and utter junk in every listed category. (And Doctor Who, which is kinda all of the above.)
Joss Whedon should be it's own category... Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Dr. Horrible (for the musical fan), Avengers... In fact, he's kind of an "All of the Above" answer.
Other acceptable answers: Post-Apocalyptic, like Road Warrior and Ice Pirates/Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone Soft-Core GLBT, like Xena and Lost Girl Swords and Sandals, like Conan and Beastmaster
The best fantasy is: Final Fantasy
"More historical, like Lord of the Rings." O_O Someone skipped world history I guess, eh? =P
a sexual one. Preferably with monsters, magicians, vampire babes, triple-breasted whores, mustard, relish, and cheese.

You forgot tentacles.
"Historical" was the wrong word. I think they're looking for "Classic" or "High" Fantasy. Historical implies that it is based off of real events / locales.

Sword and Sorcery is the common term.
I don't get how Lord of the Rings is historical.
All fantasy is good when it is well written if its a book. Well written, acted and directed with good special effects if it is a movie or TV show. The same applies to all Scifi.

QFT I could see Twilight via Mystery Science Theater but don't think I could watch it otherwise.
Fantasy football still counts as fantasy!
charcustom wrote:What is "historical" about LotR?
I was wondering how it wasn't magical...

I have to say, despite being in the minority here of liking Twilight (books, not so much movies), I would LOOOOOOVE to see Twilight through MST3K! Otherwise, my response to the poll is any of the above genres are good that are more character based - especially exploring what it means to be human. In my opinion, isn't that what fantasy is for? To help see ourselves from a different perspective?
cyber-punk of course
