Bought one of these on a previous woot-off. Fantastic weather radio.

Bought two in a previous woot offer but they were new not refurb and only 19.99. None the less, great little radio. Gave one to my son, a superstorm Sandy survivor.

Why was the "New" one $4 cheaper?

I won one, and it is a cheap POS with flimsy controls and poor tuning accuracy. I live in a rural area and found that OLD (10 year+) Radio Shack weather radios pull in the WX stations MUCH, MUCH better.

But does it have a cell phone charger and flashing red lights?

Don't expect much battery life from the installed Ni-Cad set. Mine stopped holding a charge after six months and replacing them cost $16 from Eton.

The $20 radios were not this model....i bought them as well for gifts..the are smaller than this one and are slightly less featured..Plus this antenna is better protected

Alsos this model is about $70 new on amazon.
