At this price I'd love to buy one but just can't think of enough situations where I would actually use it.

In the write up,
"what's almost is bad is..." should be "as" not "is".

Also,

I have a video camera with a built in projector that's 15 lumens, so I have a pretty decent benchmark to weigh 20 against. When you consider that that's
about 1% of a home projector
(often ~2,000 lumens), the miracle is
that you can get a usable image at all!
But heck, I prefer the lights low-to-off
even with a powerful projector. Anyway,
if 15 lumens can make for decent Yellowstone viewing,
I've no doubt 20 can too.

Note: this won't be much use to project stuff from your computer, tablet, smartphone, unless you can output onto a four-pole 1/8" (3.5mm) Stereo Mini for (Composite Video / Stereo Audio) That's not a typical output for computers. It's a bit more common for things like cameras.

It appears to have an hdmi output jack, but I don't believe it can be used to feed a signal *in* to be projected.

edit: confirmed w/ their user manual. Input is solely through the AV input jack. You can transfer a PPT file, and apparently it does appear to know how to display that (though it doesn't tell you what version it's compliant with).

Been interested in a pico projector for a while now and for $79, seems cheap enough to give it a shot. I realize that at 20 lumens, it's not going to be the best projector in it's class, but the price is right.

Oh woot, you evil temptress. I have an Optoma PK120 DLP, 18 Lumen Pico Projector and it works really well in a dark room. It works ok in a lightly lit room. I use it nightly to watch mind numbing sports until I drift off to sleep.

According to the manual, the unit will project and can record while the external power is plugged in, even if the battery is low. I did not see anywhere in the manual state that it would not charge while using, but it definitely can continue to be used while plugged in.

I don't take back my recommendation for a Quality Post, however!

The manual says "when the battery icon indicates low battery, you may continue using the Camcorder Projector without interruption by plugging the AC power adapter." So while the manual does say that it won't charge while it's powered on and plugged in, it will apparently still be usable.

Dumb question, will this project a power point display? And any opinions about it working outside under a tent? I have a presentation to give on farming methods and this would be useful.

Since I am not taking any trips on the space shuttle, to film and show, I can not really think of what I would use this for.
When the pictures are saved, how is the quality? I do need a camera right now that is better than my phone, but not sure if this is the right one.

I wish it was a portable laser projector. Those typically look better.
