For a long time I thought I didn't like home-made waffles and only liked frozen instants, because I like my waffles very crispy, not fluffy. And then I realized it was just that I don't like Belgians. So now my Amazon wishlist has a classic waffle-maker, for the day I have counterspace and cash for it.

This waffle iron is worth every penny you pay for it. We have had many others before but this one makes waffles better than any appliance we have ever owned. The main reason for it is the temperature that it heats at. It is much higher than the cheaper brands. This makes perfect, (crisp on the outside, soft on the inside waffles) and is very easy to clean with a quick wipe down of the plates after it cools down.

I highly recommend it.

I have a waffle house across the street. They make my eggs and waffles and bring it to me on a plate fresh while I sit down and read my newspaper.

Anyone who makes an omelet using one of these things deserves the dry characterless concoction that he gets. The only sensible way to make an omelet is to pour a film of two or three beaten eggs into the bottom of a 10 inch pan over medium heat, swirl the pan and lift the edges of the mixture as it firms up to let the runny part get next to the pan, add ingredients while the top layer is still slightly moist, then fold the omelet in half.

I want this so bad but already have these the Waring Pro WMK300A Belgian Waffle makers at both houses. They have worked flawlessly for years.

If you are not going to take the time to make yeast waffles, get Golden Malted All Natural Mix from Amazon. Most hotels use this mix.

If it worries ya, let it stay in the fridge overnight. But it won't develop as much flavor. I've been making these for years without incident (and am also a bread baker).
