Just a depressed insomniac checking in.
Dad is doing okay with radiation. It just really wears him out!

Ice good news about Mrs Ice. Hope she starts feeling better very soon.

D'name I'm jealous of the vacation! I was hoping to go to a hat making class at the end of the month. Cousin was going to stay with dad. He decided he didn't want to bother cousin and would stay with sister and her husband down south. They aren't up to keeping him by themselves. May try a short one or two day trip to a local town. Of course just sleeping through the night would be a vacation. Can't remember last time I did that.

Might as well get up. Its 5:47 am here. Thats all.

Good morning all.

I awoke to the sound of the dog moving around so I got up to see if he wanted out. While I was unlocking the door he disappeared so I went to see what he was doing. He proceeded to pee in the dining room. Stupid dog.
Both Mrs Ice and I feel like crap, her because of obvious reasons, I because of either allergies or a cold (I suspect allergies). I am rarely affected by allergies so I really can't tell.

In the end only kindness matters

Good morning everybody! Sliding glass doors are open for the first time since spring. Pearl the cat is running and and out. She likes to sit on the screened in porch. We let her in and out of course but running in and out is much more fun!

Hubby is coughing.....he doesn't usually have allergies.

Off to church!

May or may not have food poising. Either way, not a problem if you are home.

Now you can have the telephone and a TV in the bathroom!

Plus, it may or may not be over.

Got a pot of green beans cooking. Later will add a cottage butt and new potatoes.

Achoo. Allergies are bad.

Looks good.

Hubby has leftovers and I guess I'll have soup.

Haven't been in the bathroom since the main attack, but why push it.

I do get to blame the restaurant we went to last night. I don't really like going there.

I think I read that food poisoning can be from something you ate days ago...but your tummy always blames the last thing.

No, didn't walk out on it. It just seemed way over the top to me. Of course, this coming from the person who had no problem believing The Lone Ranger galloped Silver on top of a moving train.

I was the ONLY person in the theater. That was a little spooky.

Good morning Wootville. All is well in the panhandle so far today. Dad woke up late for him - 7 am. Got some resolution on an issue at church yesterday. still not sleeping well.

To all you allergy sufferers it does seem to be an unusually active allergy season. Cousins who don't normally have issues are troubled. My eyes have been going crazy so dr added an allergy drop.

Enough rambling for today. Hope you enjoy you day Wooters!

Good morning everybody! It's another beautiful day! We are going to scope out a shop that repairs convertible tops. Our VW Cabrio's top is falling apart. We use it like a golf cart. We drive it to the beach and on short trips. I think it is a 1998. Duct tape won't stick to the top so we have to figure out a better solution. Lol

I haven't seen a praying mantis in years.
No grasshoppers either.

Lots of the stuff I caught as a kid are gone. Lots of stuff I never saw as a kid are around every day.

Hubby agrees.

We have lizards in the sump/park a few miles from here! Lizards!

I have reverted back to childhood. By next year I'll be walking around with a mayo jar with holes in the lid and a butterfly net!

Mantises aren't native where I grew up, so finding them is very exciting. :D This poor thing tolerated me taking pictures quite well. Like the spiders, I like them more than their prey, so it's quite welcome at my house.

The rumor was that they were a protected species. You couldn't kill one. We couldn't put it in the mayo jar and examine it.

One made a egg nest on our driveway fence. My dad and I made sure nobody messed with it until it hardened.

The next year it hatched and hundreds or baby mantises made a chain to get from the nest to the ground. The neighbors all came to watch.

That would have been awesome!

Now, you can buy egg cases at the gardening stores to release for pest control.

If I were to add another animal to the menagerie, an orchid mantis would be a strong contender. They're so pretty!
