LOL
Husband found it. I have a big framed poster hanging above the washer and dryer and it dropped straight down so you can't see it on the floor.

Dad's being cremated and then we are scattering (he says dumping) him in the mill pond. He says he might as well do some good and feed the fishes or gators.

All the pictures I took of our road were taken by my tablet, a Toshiba Thrive 10.1. It's big enough I can tell there is something on the screen, with the DSL I can't see what I'm taking until I get inside. Sometimes I'm not even close to what I wanted the picture to be.

Poof glad to hear son is doing pretty good.

On the road front I talked with the state Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP) on Friday. The man said he had contacts with the local engineer. It did not sound too likely that we will get sued to make us remove the gates to the pond.

My cousin told me she heard on the news that our county got Federal monies to repair the road, so we'll see what happens. It does sound like DEP will be coming up to look it over.

On a totally different note; a high school friend mentioned we graduated 35 years ago. It sure doesn't seem that long ago!

Cemetery doesn't have a name posted, nor a denomination. There aren't any big cemeteries nearby, either. But I know that PA has a lot of little plots--driven past several on various trips. This one just stands out for being in town.

Nephew stayed weekend

Went to lunch today with my Dad, sis, nephew, great nephew & sis's boyfriend for b-day lunch. Niece was at warped tour today.

weighed saturday - down 10 lbs! of course, this is part of the 20 I put back on after mom came to stay, but at least I'm going back in the right direction

How was your weekend?

Oh yeah. lots of them. During seriously heavy rain it's all about if they are flooding

Edit - "I" think it's part of the reason our roads and freeways are so curvy/crazy in the city. Although downtown is more or less a normal grid I guess. However, this is my incredibly simplistic opinion. I'm not exactly a city engineer.

I've always associated bayous with swamps, like the Everglades. Do the Houston bayous have gators?

Nah. Wouldn't have been hard, it wasn't a fast mover. I prefer not to handle wildlife--never know what I might have on my hands (bug spray and sunscreen, for example, probably not great for the little guy).

Morning!

Dammit Poof, you stole my thunder. Not only will I make history being a male and all but when junior is born I will be 58 which is really pushing the age limit. I figure since I have had heart attacks, kidney stones, gall stones, bone surgery and migraines the only major pain I haven't had is child birth so when I got the offer I jumped at it!

So back to reality if only as a tourist. I am recovering from my second knee replacement which I had in early June. Now I remember why I waited two years after the first one, that was about enough time to forget how painful/uncomfortable the surgery is. I finished three weeks of physical therapy and now I can manage stairs the normal way albeit slowly. The last couple of weeks I have been really really tired so I went to see my family doc and he poke and prodded and examined etc. and decided I might have appendicitis. Higher than normal inflammation indicators and elevated white count (but neither alarmingly high) and right quadrant pain. He put on mega dose antibiotics and is watchfully waiting. Don't worry, I'll run to the hospital if the pain gets serious. Also a couple of weeks ago our 4 1/2 y.o male Yellow Lab, Stanley had to have surgery for a piece of grass or something between his toes and an ear infection. Then yesterday I noticed a lump on the flank of our 1 1/2 y.o.female Chocolate Lab, Bella. Took her to the vet today and she will have surgery tomorrow to remove it and see what it is. It is between the ribs and the skin and semi hard, about 2 1/2 in. long and 1 in. wide, 3/4 in. high. Sheesh, I don't know who is worse, me or the dogs. So that is how my atypically hot (90+ degree days) Polish summer is going.

More as new developments arise!

Edit: OK Poof, you can take the bait out of your mouth now!

My dogs like me, that is important.
