edlada cute dogs. how is your knee doing?

KtC sounds like someone knew you. Glad you enjoyed the Bundles of Crayons bag. One day I may try and get one,

Dad update. We came home Wed. Dad is sore all over and his stomach is upset. He is going to start drinking glucerna as he didn't want to see onocologist and go through tests necessary for palliative radiation. So I will be pureeing all his food to make it easier to swallow. We will see how this goes.

Hi, knee is doing well, no crutches and moving around pretty good, thanks for asking.

I hope your dad can be comfortable at least.

My dogs like me, that is important.

There should be some sort of IQ test before people can use a camera...

Still single, can't imagine why.

Arrived safely at 4:00am. Tried to get some sleep. Marginally successful. Going to visit a friend. Aunt and Uncle arrive at my parents this evening.

Only one small poop today.
The question is...risk a walk when it might pour, or just throw Rusty in the yard and hope for the best?

Whew! Took granddaughter #3 shopping and to dinner tonight. Capped it off with a visit to the best ice cream store in Cincinnati. I'm not sure what the name of the thing I had, but it was vanilla ice cream topped with bittersweet chocolate that had been stirred into whipped cream. Nom, nom. Done with the school shopping for this year.

Reminds me of my first enlistment in the Army in the early '70s, in August. My aunt in North East, PA had a family corn roast, beer bash, picnic to send me off to basic training. One by one all of my uncles (there were a lot of them) came up to me and told me "Don't tell anyone..." as they slipped me a few bucks. I went off to basic with a nice bankroll.

Spent yesterday grocery shopping and getting beer. Mmmm, beer. Dougall got 2 growlers for his birthday and we went to Weyerbacher Brewery to fill them up...and determined we need a beer fridge.

This morning we went to Dingman Falls. Doesn't count as a hike--just a mile loop, but pretty falls. This is Silverthread Falls.

This is the middle section of Dingman Falls taken on the stairs to the top.

Cleaned a bit, resting now before doing some more laundry.

We are all back in the mountains. Car is unloaded. Grass grew a lot in 2 weeks. It is supposed to rain more this week. I don't know when it will dry out enough to mow. Tree cutters come on Friday or Saturday so we have to get it cut by then.

Thunder in the distance. Sigh....

Leaving Ver1 here for a week, she'll fly home with her uncle next Sunday.

Good morning everybody! We are up early and ready to start yard work. Unfortunately it is supposed to rain another inch today. We are 2 feet ahead of average rainfall here on the mountains for the year. If it doesn't rain another drop all year we will end up ahead 6 inches for the year. My Mom worried and worried about the drought. I wondered how we would ever catch up.

Hubby played with the sprinkler system yesterday.

Now it is still on.
It should only be on overnight. 1/2 hour per zone.

I just shut the entire thing down.

While looking for the instruction book I found Hubby has a entire file in the file cabinet for ......the ironing board

The ironing board!?!?!?!?

Windows Takes Forever!????

Why????

It's official!

I start a new job on August 26th. The same day school starts. Someone remind me to bring home flowers, because I'm not going to have time to bake brownies like I used to.

I'm also going to get a new MacBook from the new job. I've never used a Mac for extended times. I wonder if I'm going to like it.
