Like young America making the Louisiana Purchase, or the core My Little Ponies officially admitting the Cutie Mark Crusaders into their sisterhood, today Woot more than doubles its territory in one bold stroke! We're launching no less than 11 new sites today, each focused like a laser on a particular niche of today's ecommerce retail online shopping marketplace of today.

Of course, this daring thrust raises questions. What's the big idea? Is this a historic day or an historic day? And most important, can we really offer a wide enough variety of deals to justify so many new categories? Check out today's deals on all the new sites for the emphatic answer to that question…

is your head spinning like ours are? Then you're either excited about all these new sites, or you should probably have your surroundings checked for carbon trioxide, a colorless, odorless gas known as the "Virtually Nonexistent Killer". Either way, a future full of discount fun awaits in the new universe of Woot sites! We just hope tomorrow will be one-eleventh as exciting!

So the April Fools joke this year is just one big ad for the "Rockwell Oscillating Tool Kit"?

Disappointing. I hope there's more to come.

I was hoping for an April Fools Day Bunch of 60s Cartoons but instead it's a gimmicky launch of a new sub-site to woot. I use to look forward to this day for wootdom, even if I never got a bag I was always happy with the ride. (Even when it meant broken flash games and million dollar crap.) I'll hold out a little hope for a Bunch of 60s Cartoons but not much.

This is sad and disappointing on so many levels.

I like to think they'd pop up at Sawdust.woot.com, myself. I mean, how else do you keep it all organized?

Y'know since I skip the front page and go straight to the forums (and then go back to check the products), I miss out on ALL the good stuff.

Or rather, I missed the gist of the gag, since I didn't see the "Extra" bar until after I had read both the blog post and comments... and THEN I checked the main page to see what the hullabaloo was about.
