Only 8ohm stable bridged. 300 watts if anyone cares.

The power ratings on the amplifier are all wrong (or at the very least grossly misleading). The manual clearly states 250W per channel at 4ohm, 150W per channel at 8ohm (stereo). Open the manual up...

I'm not mad, just disappointed.

The loudspeakers and the PA speakers (the last two items in the event) pictures make me think they come in pairs - is this the case, or are you just showing us the front and back? Usually when a picture shows an item that isn't included, there's some snarky comment about how you don't get it, but I don't see anything here about getting only one.

That mic three-pack reallllly doesn't look wireless to me. Might want to fix that description.

Yet the manual does, in fact, list the lower numbers quoted above.

"Peak" is a very important qualifier, especially when applied to amps. I don't remember seeing it in the specs; it has either been changed or I was mistaken. To be fair, Pyle omits it on their site, so in any case woot is not at fault.

The microphone combo had 3 stars also at Amazon with majority of comments saying the lavaliers didn't work so well.

Pyle Pro PWMA430U 300 Watt Wireless Rechageable Portable PA System with FM/USB/SD & Handheld Microphone
I own this system. The microphone quit 5 seconds after trying it out. The sound quit soon after. Took the motherboard apart and found a connector that had been loosely installed. Reinstalled and haven't had a problem with that. There's a low hum constantly. Probably bad shielding, but when you're playing, it covers the hum. No fan equals no fan noise. The self powered part is a small motorcycle style battery in the bottom. It lasts for 20 minutes to an hour, depending on how loud you have it. Max volume lasts about 20 minutes. The handle is not made well and jams pulling out or putting in. There is a handle lock, so you can push it when extended if you need to, which is a plus. Radio works okay, as does mp3 player. Biggest complaint is that the front feet broke off and now the front sits on the ground looking ashamed. All in all, it's my favorite amp when playing acoustic, this is light, portable, and just right. Remember to turn the set off between tunes to conserve battery life. The power is way overrated. It sounds more like a 25 or 30 watt amp RMS. If that fits your needs, get it.

Pyle makes everything from alarm clocks, to wrist watches, to record players. All of it garbage. This is a brand sold on eBay where the seller doesn't even tell you the brand name. "Super Power 5.1 10,000W Surround Sound Audio System NIB"

1,000 watts my @$$. More like 25 per channel.

If anyone is serious about learing more about amplifier ratings, this is an excellent technical explanation from John Meyer at Meyer's Sound Labs:

If that amp is three thousand watts, then I've got a three foot long, um, finger.

No shirt, no shoes, no pants, no gods. No worries!

I honestly feel sorry for anyone stupid enough to buy this Yellow Brick Road. It's literally Yellow Brick Road.

I'd be shocked if these junkers could even produce a clean 200 watts per channel.

A wall socket that is wired and breakered per code can supply just over 1500 watts. You cannot plug your amplifier into a socket and then claim that it supplies twice that much unless you are playing games with your ratings.

Claiming that your amp puts out 3000 "peak" watts is like theoretically sucking all of the power out of the flywheel of your car engine in an instant and then claiming that you have a "1200 horsepower" car.

Correction: Pyle assigns it's name to, not "makes" these products.

This "peak music power" nonsense has been going on for more than 40 years to peddle low-performing gear to the uninformed.

Go to PSSL's site and see what real gear costs. Get the right tool for the job, 'cause there ain't no free lunch.

The pack of 3 wireless mics look like they are corded based on the size of the mics. Also, when you look at the specs there aren't any operating freqs listed. (Look at the wireless set that is listed to see what I am talking abot - they list the freq range from 6xx-698).

We own that silver speaker-on-wheels one (Pyle Pro PCMX265W Battery Powered Portable PA System) and it's honestly really great. It has never given us an issue and we use it for our Alpine dancing troupe (yes, with lederhosen) all the time when a sound system isn't available. The battery life is also very acceptable and it recharges quickly.

Well, then they need someone to fact-check their own site. That doesn't fill me with confidence on their brand.

My neighborhood swim team hosts a couple swim meets and a season-end party.

Would any of this equipment be a decent purchase to use a PA to announce events and play the national anthem? (Meets usually draw 500-700 folks.)

We usually rent equipment from a rock n' roll rental shop for this purpose, but if this stuff works, it'd save me the recurring cost and hassle of pick-up.

Unfortunately, no. If you want something excellent and reasonably priced, go with Alto at GuitarCenter. I bout the 800 watt unit with built in bluetooth pairing. And blasted it only at 25% in NEW YORK CITY. Loud enough for NYPD to threaten to revoke my sound permit.

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Alto-Truesonic-Wireless-Series-TS115W-Active-800W-2-Way-15--Loudspeaker-w--Wireless-Connectivity-108081241-i2579477.gc

You can get the non-BT ones for cheaper.

i wish i was knowledgeable enough to weigh in with an educated response.

instead, i'll just say this: it's not exactly advisable, but having a PA system installed in your car provides HOURS of good fun.

RE: Pyle Pro PCMX265W Battery Powered Portable PA System

I purchased this last go-round. I bought a mic and am using it for dog training class in a large arena (think huge pole barn). It is great! It is easily heard in the whole arena at max volume. No more shouting!

I'm not impressed with the SD card/memory stick music playback. It is not easy to navigate music files, if you can do it at all. I will get an adapter so I can play music from an MP3 player.

I can't speak to battery life or durability, yet.

So far, I love it!
