Yours is only the best because mine is no longer around to celebrate. ^_^ She sounds epic, though.
Mine was the best-
-Because she makes heart-shaped pancakes
-She let me prance around on a stage with my brother, sister, and daddy while she had terrible stage fright herself.
-Because she can play the tambourine LIKE A BEAST. (It's a compliment, mom.)
-Because she raised one child interested in art, one interested in preservation, And me. And
-Because she wasn't afraid to do hamburger helper nights.
-Because she let put together the BEST BIRTHDAY PARTIES EVAR.
-Because by the time I was old enough for her to give me her blessing to get my ears pierced, I didn't want to anymore.
-Because she let my brother and I play the soundtrack for Les Mis nonstop in the backseat on car trips.
-Because when by brother was sick and we feared the worst, she never left his side.
-She taught me how important it was to have someone else help you understand what the heck you wrote in your paper for class - and that the editing process is not just a frivolous thing teachers tell you to do.
-Because she taught us the value of the library.
-Because she wore diamond-shaped eyeglasses, handed down from a previous generation, which were fab on her.
-Because she hunted down every fun, artistic, educational thing in the city and county to do, and took us to all of the ones she could afford.
-Because I wanted to make her proud of me, even when I didn't know it.
-Because she participated in every Komen Race for the Cure that happened in St. Louis during her time with us, and she was a survivor for all of them.
-Because she never gave up, even at the end.
-Because the one constant in my life is her enduring loved of my father and us kids.
Everyone should be so lucky.
I'm lucky that Pemberducky is lucky and shared her mom today. ^_^
