Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

Garfield!!! I cannot believe that wasn't even on the survey. Who in their right mind can stomach that lazy lazy comic?! It's typically made up of one or two pictures that take up little 8 comic cells to say something like "I'm on a lasagna diet, when I see lasagna I eat it." What a sad excuse for a comic!

Oh yeah, Apartment 3G. Just awful. Why were there no serious comics in this poll?

This will absolutely blow your mind about the complexity of Garfield.

Doonesbury. Definitely the worst.

PEANUTS is the worst "comic" ever. It is not funny at all & that includes the holiday TV specials every year. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Garfield? Garfield is one of the very few comics that is consistently funny. I never found Peanuts very funny, but was a fan of the tv shows. My least favorite comic was probably Doonesbury. My favorite was The Far Side.

I'm surprised that there were none of the soap opera comics listed. I would always look forward to reading the comics as a kid, and then I'd run into something like Mary Worth and totally lose momentum.

Hey people, comics are for kids, the same goes for cartoons. Those adults that like them are kids at heart, the ones that don't, well there is always the sports page............
Lots of crappy adult themes that I think should never be in comics section and the same goes for "cartoons" on nightime TV. my pick for the worst in his poll is ALL

Woot count = 70+

Doonesbury, hands down. I can't STAND people telling others what to think. Jiminy Cricket that's the worst comic imaginable.

Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean that they hate you, or anyone else.

I could not agree more. It belongs in the politics section, not the comic section.

I'm just happy Cathy is in the lead, because that comic gave me the worst case of rage-induced, newspaper-shredding anger I've ever experienced...

Ditto. After a while I realized that I had actually trained my brain to skip right past it - I didn't even realize it was still in the paper!

Rose is Rose. The approach given with each strip is best summed up by Lisa Simpson: I'll pump 'em so full of sap they'll be blowing their nose with a pancake!

There was a strip in our paper for a couple of years called "Zippy" I think, it was bizarre. It had a main character who looked like a clown out of your nightmares with a cone head and a little bow on top. If this sounds familiar, somebody please tell me what the hell was going on in it.

Zippy the Pinhead. The art was much more sophisticated/complex than what typically makes the funny pages, but beyond that, it didn't hold much appeal for me.

If you want to read about it: Zippy article on Wikipedia

I like the ones where Garfield is present, but his thought bubbles are removed. Then it's just a creepy, pathetic guy talking to his cat.
