"Rapid Charge" must be the brand name, 1000mAh isn't enough to charge most new Smartphones or Tablets!

Ok, I understand that 1000mAh means it will supply 1 Amp of current for 1 hour. What happens after an hour? Is the circuitry fried?

This will supply that power indefinitely. The "hour" part is only for batteries - misused here.

And this WILL be fine for all smartphones and tablets, 500mA is typical for phones, 1000mA for large tablets.
