I'm not much into donuts these days, but back when I was, I was all about the apple fritters and french crullers.

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present to you... the Bacon Maple Pazcki.

It's your standard fluffy pazcki, covered in a maple glaze and coated with candied bacon. The smokehouse near where I work (Lazybones Smokehouse in Roseville MI) makes them every year for Fat Tuesday. THEY ARE DELICIOUS.

French crullers are okay, but I much prefer the traditional style, which is more German.

Toasted coconut is my weakness. I always get one, even if I've already ordered something else. Blueberry is second place.

I voted cake because of blueberry and sour cream cake donuts, but also at the top are (as mentioned by others) A) Apple fritters and B) the maple bacon doughnut from Voodoo Doughnut in Portland OR. I just went to Portland on my honeymoon and made a point to get this doughnut. The stories don't lie. It's divine!

Sprinkle with chocolate frosting. All time best. It's got great flavor with a slight crunch from the sprinkles.

The Long Johns that are cream filled. I guess it depends on region, but the ones in Hawaii are the best.

The honey cruller from Tim Horton's has got to be one of the best chain donuts I've ever experienced.
However out in the world my fall back is always a bavarian creme donut if it's available.

sour creme donuts are awesome. If you get donuts from a near by dunkin, and haven't tried one, you should.

Fritters are also delicious, and like a whole meal.

I go to two doughnut shops and I have a favorite from each.

My favorite from Krispy Kreme is the glazed with chocolate icing.

From Dunkin Donuts my favorite is the "Chocolate Kreme Filled" doughnut which is covered in powdered sugar.

Of the two, I would prefer Krispy Kreme over Dunkin's but either will really suffice.

Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean that they hate you, or anyone else.

Apple fritters, hands down. Boston cream and Bavarian cream are good, too.

Of course, if there's hot apple cider for dunking, that changes things...

The donut situation here in our nation's capital is dire. The Washington Post surveyed 24 donut purveyors and not one got an overall score better than 6.9 out of 10. DC needs donuts. We're dyin' here!

Huh, I've never heard of a Long John before, or at least not heard them called that.

Buttermilk donuts are probably the most interesting I've had, but my secret donut passion is from Pike Place Market. The cinnamon sugar ones from Daily Dozen are amazing. They're still so hot, the sugar forms a crust...
