Bought one of these last time around, works just fine. Plus: Dedicated "Netflix" button on remote control. Minus: Bring your own HDMI cable.

You can't use an HDMI cable for all TV's. Rather, the two different HDMI cables I bought here could not be used on some TV models.

It's pretty common to not include the HDMI cable... unless you generally buy stuff like this from Costco. In my opinion, it should never be included in any product ratings, but a lot of folks do.

It's the same with USB printers that don't include the cables. There are a lot of things like that.

I bought one of these in the last woot-off a few weeks ago and have been very pleased.

I checked Consumer Reports before purchasing and it is a recommended model.

I initially had some issues with DVD's freezing, but I cleaned the heads (with a lens-cleaning CD) and haven't had any trouble since.

I have the cheaper Phillips player that was up yesterday. IT's -ok- but lacks HULU+, and it's a little slow. I'm going to try this one and give the Phillips to one of the kids. This one is currently $147 new on Amazon.

Why is this $10 more than it was on Woot Plus recently?

This is a good question. I didn't think the players cared what kind of 3D you had, but the product description repeatedly refers to active-shutter glasses.

I don't have a 3D TV yet, but I don't want to be locked in to a specific tech by my player.

Too lazy to keep updating my sig.

Howdy,

This guy only has one hdmi output and a coaxial. My tv has an hdmi imput... will that still allow me to have this play through my receiver? Do I hook up my tv to the receiver with the audio optical output?

Thanks.

Yeah, true about printers. I've bought two Blu-ray players from Costco, one DVD player from Best Buy; they all had HDMI cables included in the box, plus batteries for the remotes. Assumed that was standard retail practice.

How well does this work with Amazon Prime?
