Tons of Home Audio

Getting quality sound in your home requires the right technology, and of course, the right speaker system. But what if your walls and ceilings were just made of speakers? Now that'd be a lot of audio. If you want to try it out for yourself, you better start buying speakers ... and, well look at that, we've got some for sale.

I recently purchased the Onyko 5.1 system that seems to always be up on Woot somewhere. It is amazing! It actually sounds like it is worth the full retail price and is an absolute steal at $380.

I shopped around for surround sound systems for a long time before deciding on this one and I could not be happier. The upconversion of 2.0 to 5.1 is really impressive. It takes an average baseball game and if you close you eyes you would think you are standing on the field!

Regarding the Pinnacle Soundbars, can you please explain the difference between the FRONT ROW SYS 8210 (Pinnacle - $799) and the PBAR 2.1 SYS 72-320 (Pinnacle - $899)?

The pictures and manuals are exactly the same on the Pinnacle website. Are the speakers and sub the same, just with a different power supply?

The Pioneer Elite SC-63 is an impressive AV receiver, with great reviews. It ought to be for the price. A warning about warranty coverage - I read more than one comment on Amazon that Pioneer will not honor the warranty on this model if it is purchased from an online retailer. So you have no warranty coverage unless you purchase a third party warranty.

We weren't given a photo of the remote but here's the manual with info on it.

Can someone please confirm if the Audio Solutions TVAM2-1 has the coaxial digital input? The manual online indicates optical digital but makes no mention of a coaxial input.

Thanks.

The bottom image on the sale shows:

The specs tab also lists an Optical Input and alternative RCA Input.

Is this information helpful?

The Pionner website specifically states that the Elite line of receivers is not authorized to be sold online and will not carry the manufactuer's warranty:

*Pioneer does NOT authorize any dealers to sell Elite-branded products on the Internet (only in-store sales are permitted). Therefore, any Elite-branded product purchased on the Internet is NOT authorized, which means that it does NOT carry the manufacturer's limited warranty and does not qualify for any manufacturer's rebate.

This also has the list of authorized online retailers for other non-elite equipment.

I saw that, but it seems to contradict the owners manual which only shows an RCA left/right and Optical digital input.

I was hoping someone who had this could confirm the existence of the coaxial input before I pull the trigger.

Thanks.

I've spoken with staff, and they informed me that this sale doesn't have a digital coaxial connection. Just digital optical and analog RCA.

The Coaxial input can also be referred to as the analog RCA input:

I could see the confusion with that image saying "Digital Optical/Coaxial Input" being left open to interpretation.

"Panasonic SC-BTT196B 5.1CH Home Theater System with 3D Blu-ray Player"

Got this last time it was on Woot!, and it's pretty damn nice. The Hulu app crashes somewhat often (same happens on my Roku), but beyond that it works great. Definitely a worthwhile budget home theater.

The advertised wattage differs slightly, 350 for the 8210 and 320 for the 72-320. Aside from the 8210's 30 watt advantage though, the primary difference seems to be related to marketing channels. The 8210 is part of their Front Row series and available through many retailers. The 72-320 is part of their SubSonix series which is available exclusively through Amazon.

Hey regarding the Pioneer Elite receiver....Pioneer does NOT authorize the online sale of ANY Elite model receivers and so if you purchase from woot, it's not covered under the warranty. Tread carefully, Woot is misinformed on this one.
