Potatoes are only a delivery system for something that has a taste like gravy or ketchup. Just like cake is just a delivery system for frosting.

What? No hashbrowns? Extra crispy, please, with ketchup.

You've, uh, never had potatoes, then?

Another vote for the almighty tater tot. Oh yes.

quality posts: 2 Private Messages solarhands

Yeah, twice-baked is obviously the best. Whoever made the poll has never had a proper twice-baked potato. Also, as far as people saying hash browns or tater tots: those are both just poor imitations of latkes.

Fried smothered potatoes with sausage. But I love just about all ways of cooking a potato. Potatoes & meat are my favorite foods. I'm a picky eater, but I like just about every variation upon how the potato is cooked.

Baked with butter, cheese, and real bacon.
Ohmygosh. Haven't seen a twice baked potato in a restaurant for years. Maybe it's a regional thing. Going to have to look up the recipe again.

Umm... As flour? As in potato bread - rolls - buns? Not that there's anything wrong with latkes, gnocchi, potato soup, etc etc...

Potato dumplings with cabbage. Comfort food...

And just to add one more way: Potato Vodka.

(is my Eastern European heritage showing?)

potato vodka is definitely a superb way to get your taters.

Also I'm going to have to say there's not a bad way to eat potatoes. I voted for mashed though I really prefer red mashed with the skins still on mmm...

Also Also Disco Fries as phenomenal. On the chance that this is just a jersey thing(or name) Disco Fries are fries with gravy and cheese(normally mozzarella) that one would get at a diner.

RAW all the way!

My mom use to cut them up in standard fry form and let them soak in some salt water. Then she would pat them dry and that would be my starch for that meal. Every so often, I still enjoy a raw potato.
Most of my friends freak out when I eat them that way.

Baked with some fixins is great, vodka is another top choice, hashbrown, home fries - both delicious... have you ever had potato candy? sounds weird, tastes good... if you like sweet and peanut butter.

Let's see the quality impulse buys!

An 'all of the above' button would have been nice.

Having said that, potato sliced thin and fried with onions. Mmmmm. True comfort food.

There is no good way to eat potatoes. They are in the nightshade family, pro-inflamitory, and contain little to no nutritional value.

I love potatoes in pretty much any form. Steamed Reds, Fried Russets, Mashed Goldens, twice baked, hashbrowns, coddled, baked, grilled, microwaved leftovers, with and without toppings. Yay for potatoes!

Twice Baked potatoes.
Bake potatoes 1 hr @350.
Cut 1/4 long ways top off.
Gut till only skin remains.
Put guts in a big bowl and mix with: Bacon, sour cream, milk, cheddar cheese, green onions, and Salt+Pepper.
Put mix back in potatoes, and place cheddar cheese on top.
Bake for another hour.
