Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

Depending on where in the country I am, I'd either call Hungry Howie's (I LOVE their cajun crust) or Godfather's.

I said Papa Johns only because I assumed delivery. If I'm picking up, local pizza place FOR SURE.

Papa Murphy's, no contest! Get precisely what you want, cook it precisely as crisp or soggy as you like!

Like @msawyer13, I understood the poll to be about delivery.

We used to use Pizza Hut but the service at the store nearest us took a nosedive. Late. Cold. Wrong toppings. Wrong SIZE! Wise A$$ delivery drivers and customer service with attitude. Since there was a Dominoes in our vicinity, we tried it. So long PH and hello Dominoes. Never looked back. I have no intention of going back. If I want to eat at home but funding is tight, WalMart makes some darned good pizza to heat-and-eat.

Having to restrict my salt a lot these days so Pizza is a "back in the day" kind of thing. {sigh} It's hell getting old. If you have any other option (other than "getting dead"), take it.

Papa John's is the only choice around here for delivery. Otherwise, I make my own. Nobody does it better!

It's good to know so many people care to have GOOD pizza instead of what's sold as pizza. However, "pizza-like substances" can be OK from time to time as long as you acknowledge you're doing it for convenience/cheapness. Heck! I even enjoy some frozen pizzas and Totino's Pizza Rolls every now and then, but I have a hard time saying Pizza Hut, Domino's or Papa John's are any better than those.

My favorite place for chilli and hot dogs is a local bar where I spend my days and nights reflecting on broken promises and lost dreams!

You get used to it.

I chose Domino's because they have an insanely tasty gluten-free pizza!
Otherwise I make my own.

I just go to Papa Murphys, they're everywhere in Texas. Pizza for the same price as other chains if not cheaper, but you have to cook it at home yourself. Though since they don't deliver, usually less of their cost overhead means better ingredients, plus not having to tip drivers or wait for them, and it's fresh out of my oven

Hungry Howie's Deep Dish is awesome. The local Godfather's closed about 20 years ago. That was one of the worst pizzas I'd ever had. Flavorless and waaay too greasy. We used to have Angelina's locally and they'd use the small pepperonis that would curl and burn slightly. Yum. That was greasy too, but it all pooled in the pepperoni and it could be dabbed out. Pizza Hut always seemed too expensive for what it was...good, not great. Of course that was years ago and that opinion is still in my brain.

Continental Pizza and Subs in Kensington, MD. Used to be called Tasty-Quick (TQ's), my uncles still always go whenever they come into town. Cheap and greasy, in the best way possible. (edit: forgot the question was for delivery, they don't deliver)

Brick's in Centreville and Falls Church, VA. Great pizza and great toppings.

Or if I go to the beach, Louie's Pizza in Rehoboth. Grotto tastes like doodoo.

Mazzio's, Napoli's, or Marley's

If I'm dining in, you can't beat The Hideaway. It's legendary in Stillwater, OK, for being the best college town pizza around, and it's migrated and grown around the state. If you're ever in Oklahoma, YOU MUST HAVE HIDEAWAY PIZZA!

New York City people! Almost any place guarantees great pizza. Papa John's is a joke. That is not pizza. NYC all the way.

If we don't make the pizza at home (that's the BEST).

We use a really nice local place.

ALL chain-pizza joints are crap.

Just my opinion. I'm picky about quality food.

Pizza must also be consumed with a good local microbrew.
