Black Walnuts - truly a unique and distinctive flavor, and an acquired taste.

Hmm maybe someone should rewrite history and name it pealegume.

Yay new friend!
Of course this means we will have to duel over the Brazil nuts ;)

Seconded. Another vote for pecans!
"We've got walnuts, chestnuts,
All the best nuts,
Every kind but DONUTS.
Brazil nuts, peanuts,
We will see nuts.
'Til we really go nuts."

Brazil here, but I seriously prefer shell on nuts. My first activity bringing on the holidays is to get a big bowl full of shell on mixed nuts and put em out for everyone. We all get shell fragments stuck in the feet for the next month or so, but it's worth it.

Agreed! Where the H E double hockey sticks are the walnuts??!?!??
why not walnuts, it has the word "nut" in the name. I would think it would be mandatory to make the list.
Pine nuts so rule in a salad! But they are very expensive so I use super awesome & cheap soy nuts. Ya gotta try it ;)
What a great poll:
- I can't stand walnuts or pecans - they're constantly ruining good foods for me from brownies to cookies to truffles - and they're left out!
- Funny comment about brazil nuts, I agree.
- My favorite is cashew - it won!
- Close to it is pistachio - it's second!
Has anyone ever had homemade peanut butter? I get honey roasted peanut butter and it's to die for. Even better than that is the chocolate peanut butter.
Plain peanut butter is kind of bland. They also have almond butter and cashew butter, plus some others.
Where are the Pecans? What list worth it's salt leaves out Pecans?
