I have one of these. Great fun but the charge time vs. the fly time is unacceptable. It's not fun when you have to wait 2 hours to fly 15 minutes.

Hopefully these will work in a high wi-fi area.

If this was the 2.0 I'd be in, you can hack the 2.0. This version, not so much.

Think it is safe to get a factory reconditioned one?

if you are at all interested in this you should buy this. this is an incredible price. these are immensely fun. yes, you'll have to buy a second battery, but it's great fun.

Yes, the 2.0 is better, but it is $300. wait two years and the 2.0 will be $150, but then there will be a 3.0 that is better still.

What's the next best price people have found on these? Looks like Amazon froze their sales until the this sells out.

Got a factory refurb 2.0 from Woot a couple of months ago for $175. Works great!

Just received mine today - but I think there is something wrong with the Battery and/or charger.
When plugged in, the charger just flashes all the LED's red once, then nothing.

AND the Free Flight software insists that my WiFi isn't turned on, but it is of course. I just downloaded the software via WiFi. sigh...

Hi there. Here's what we heard from the Parrot folks during the last sale:

Per their tech support, if the green led isn’t on when the charger is plugged, the battery is certainly faulty.

You can contact Parrot AR.Drone Tech Support via phone at 877-972-7768 (877-9PARROT) or via e-mail at usa_support@parrot.com Monday to Friday between 9am to 7pm EST.

I got mine a few days ago and although it's a lot of fun, the flight time is only about 4-5 minutes. I think I also have a old battery and I've sent an email to Parrot to see about getting a new one.
