Happy Music Monday! If you're like us… you're not working today. Isn't that GREAT?? If you're not like us we're sorry and hope you get some time off soon. Regardless, today is a great day to remember the past, so Scott's made another mix full of memory songs.

Johnny Thunders - You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory

You know, I've simply GOT to stop leading with the best song. Johnny Thunders had a hard life and kinda ruined it all by himself, but with a song like this, you get the feeling he knew what he was doing. A lovely, heartbreaking piece. Appropriately enough.

Still four more coming inside! See you after the jump.

The Shangri-Las - Remember (Walking In The Sand)

Not all memories stay the same, of course. The best time of your life can become bittersweet if someone your with breaks your heart. Memory's like the heart, really. It changes as it pleases and you shouldn't ever trust it.

Firefall - Just Remember I Love You

But that's also something we can use to our advantage from time to time. Holding on to something positive might help us make a bad patch all right. Plenty of relationships are saved at the last minute because someone remembers that one little thing that made them fall in love in the first place.

The Smithereens - Only A Memory

It goes without saying that sometimes memories aren't what they should be. We all sometimes revisit the memory of what should have been and compare it to what actually happened. That's not to say that all memories are bleak, though. Some of our best times are memories!

George Harrison - When We Was Fab

This song has no meaning by itself, of course, but what memory ever does? All this song says is this: There was a time that was the best ever and if you were there you understood and if not, you missed out. That sentence that works for any memory, really. Even ones that aren't so fab.

Let us just remind you: some images come from the corresponding Wikipedia page and are here under fair use. See you next week.

A classic from The King

And a country selection

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Yeah, so the Wombles had a song that references memory...

Remember You're a Womble

Hmm, what else is there? Multiple versions of These Foolish Things:

Bryan Ferry

Leslie "Hutch" Hutchinson

Billie Holiday

Lester Young instrumental

Thelonius Monk, as always mildly terrifying to listen to

It's just a really good song, you know?
