I made several attempts to WOOT some crap and at 12:23 got a SOLD OUT display, only to see the last sale go down after that time. I don't know why I do computer support, I hate computers. And that Vacuum I got recently really sucks (the damn cat did't notice the headlight was missing from inside the extra large dustcup).

Here's what happened to me:

I clicked on "I want one as soon as it appeared."
Stupid me, I wasn't already logged in so I spent the next 15 minutes trying to login. After over 200 server errors, two requests to mail my password to me, checking my email and then entering the correct password at least 40 times, I finally got to fill out the order page. after 75 or so attempted submissions I finally got it! :D Then I looked at the shipping address my auto fill had entered. The state was wrong!! DAMNI#!!! I live in Nevada not Alabama. Well, I'll either get them :) or some happy redneck will get a bag of crap on his doorstep :cry: . Hopefully it'll be on fire :twisted: So for all you who didn't get through, just imagine how much worse it would have been to finally get through and then send the shi#y bag to the wrong addy. I'm an idiot. :? Oh well goodnight.

Hi Guys I did not get my order in but didnt any of you notice that in the sourcecode for the order page was a direct link to the server error message. I did not read through it enough to understand why you had to click through so many times but it was right there. Maybe woot thinks April 15th is sort of like April 1st.

Let me address some things here.

a) The "It's not fair, I had server errors while I was ordering" people:

Yes, it sucks. I complained similarly when I couldn't get in. The first time. Then I just shut up, because I realized plenty of people were whining pointlessly. No, they can't do much about it except for what they've been doing...maintaining and upgrading the servers that take care of the ordering to the best of their abilities.

b) To the "It's not fair, you got one before" people:

So? It's CRAP. Not some amazing contest. I expect to get three pucks. The fun is in trying to get through. Just because someone already got a BOC doesn't mean they aren't entitled to the fun. I'm sure the people who run woot! have considered this. If they feel it's a good policy, I'm sure they'll change it so you can only get it if it's your first BOC. However, that sounds like it'd be a complete pain, considering the strain that is already on the system for the BOCs.

c) To anyone else who didn't get one:

It sucks you couldn't get one. But don't worry about it. It's crap. I'll tell you what. Go grab $8.00 from your wallet, and buy yourself something. See? Now you're guaranteed to get what you want, for the same price. It's an even BETTER value.

And yes, I probably am just being all calm because I finally got one. Otherwise I might have been bellyaching too..

That has to do with the server erroring out due to too many connections...it wasn't always directed to the server error page, only when there were too many connections (I believe).

C'mon man, catch up. :D
