Technically, the security code should never be saved by a merchant. It's an additional security measure that is supposed to be used. Doesn't stop a lot of places from storing it anyway, though.

Yet, they do already have your credit info anyways, Its more to Protect the user from someone else going hog wild and ordering from your account.
