yesterday's post was fun... i'm taking it easy tonight... but the links are still there...
all the comparison shopping links... for this woot and past woots... p.s. i like this one a lot...

I do a daily woot blog where I talk about the woot, link to CSEs, find reviews, etc. A few people have told me it's useful. Google "useful linkage" and there it is.

Wow, tough call.

I've already got a Roomba and a Scooba that I bought from Woot. Very happy with the Scooba, kinda happy with the Roomba.

On the other hand, how often does my GARAGE need to be vacuumed?

I need to mull this one over.

What is this model exactly? It picks up dog poo?

Really...?

I think that Woot's slogan should change from "One day, one deal" to "One week, one vacuum."

How many of these iRobots can there be, it seems there is a different one out for everyone. Do these come in sports models, might be interested in one of those, you know I could do the floors while watching football.

Dang. I got the Roomba already from the $139 deal that Woot had before Christmas. Got it, use it, recommend it, really like it a lot. Am hoping to strike a deal on a Scooba sometime now, so I can auto-mop our tile floors. Guess not tonight.... g'nite all.....

So what are they saying? This thing can't, or shouldn't be used on carpet? What if I have a very dirty carpet?

Looking forward to the next Woot off for sure (easy on the vacuums please)

esaour wrote:how noisy is it?

Noisy, but not *that* bad. Our Dustbuster makes more noise than a Roomba. On carpet, the Roomba is actually quiet, but on hard flooring, there's nothing to dampen the sound waves so it is somewhat noisy. Just close the door. ;-)

Don't knock them till you try them. Have a Roomba - thing's great. Set it up to clean the main room while I do other things like see what's on Woot. Roomba does an awesome job, gets under all the furniture, picks up more than you would think looking at the off-white carpet.

Will this sweep up the dead mice in my shop? You know, the same mice that ate the Decon behind the cabinets. Is it good for wood shavings? I have a few of those laying around, too!

I think it would be best for the concrete floor in the garage. My woodshop is better cleaned with a broom and a small shovel after a big woodworking project.

Agree! Also it doesn't clean stairs or car floor mats very well because it can't negoiate the terrain.

Per iRobot's own site:

"Use on hard floors, shop carpets or industrial floor surfaces only."

That answers that I guess. I'll get the Discovery the next time around.
