Philadelphia Experiment III: The Grad Student

As a time traveller focusing on events between 1952 and 1987, the AA battery is vitally important.

Future clothes? You can play that off as a costume party or an advertising stunt or just “The ‘80s” in general. Future Slang? You say you’re from some other state! Even the high-tech “gadgets-of-tomorrow” are easily handwaved away, just as long as you make sure they run on AA batteries. Because everybody knows the future has crazy nuclear power plants and such, so with common AA batteries, you’ll always fit right in!

That’s why, when I zip through time, I always bring my iGo 4-Position Battery Charger along with me. The eight included AA batteries recharge up pretty easy (it also charges AAA batteries too) and leave me ready to enjoy flashlights, Walkmen, transistor radios and those early portable video games. Those are handy for a time traveller to keep around too. Anybody gets too close, just say you work for the Defense Department and hand over your “prototype” game. Then you take out the batteries so they have to run and get more if they want to play it. And while they’re gone, you can escape!

Trust me. It works every time.

What are Top Comments?

Top Comments are discussion forum posts we have deemed worthy of your time. Listen, we get a lot of comments, and most of the time, it's pretty forgettable stuff; but sometimes you rise to the top like butterfat in milk. We don't recommend you base your self-worth on how often we feature your comments, but we don't expressly forbid it either.
