It's What's On The Inside That Counts

Nice, Aunt Marie. I can't believe you pulled the old "Box Inside Another Box" trick on me for my birthday.

No, no, you don't have to explain anything. It was actually pretty funny! That is, until I had to get the crowbar out of the garage to crack that black box open.

Now calm down, Aunt Marie, I know I could've probably just used a screwdriver to do it, but you know me, always in a rush to get things done. I was just so excited about what could be inside, and I already knew where the crowbar was! Don't worry, though, because that thing popped right open on the first try. Well, "shattered open," I guess I should say, since it was made of plastic. I sure hope you weren't hoping to get that back for re-gifting.

But before you say anything, I've got to tell you how amazed I was at what I found in there, Aunt Marie! It looked just like the inside of an HP Pavilion Dual-Core Desktop! I couldn't believe it!

How did you know? I've been going back and forth on whether I wanted the one with the 1.3GHz AMD Fusion E-300 and Radeon HD 6310 graphics or the 1.65GHz AMD Fusion E-450 with Radeon HD 6320 graphics, but you somehow chose the one I wanted most! Did Mom give you a hint? Wait, don't tell me, I bet it was a little birdy, right? And I bet the same feathered friend whispered something about a 500GB SATA hard drive and 3GB DDR3 memory, too, huh? And I haven't even mentioned the Supermulti DVD±RW drive, though I might have damaged it a little when I opened the box, I'm not sure. I KNOW I busted the 6-in-1 memory card reader, though, but that's not completely my fault. Some idiot attached it to the front of the box with a little opening perfect for the end of a crowbar! Who does that?

Aunt Marie, please, I'm trying to thank you here! There's no need to interrupt me! Now, if I may finish, I just wanted to say thank you for the thoughtful gift! It was as close to a HP Pavilion Dual-Core Desktop as I've ever gotten! All it needed was Windows® 7 Home Premium and a USB Keyboard and Mouse and it...

Wait, what do you mean it did? Of course I didn't "read the original box." It was covered in gift wrap, duh. Not to mention that I was busy running off to get the crowbar. Geez, Aunt Marie, weren't you listening? You should maybe learn to slow down and pay attention to things before accusing others of being too impatient.

Top Comments are discussion forum posts we have deemed worthy of your time. Listen, we get a lot of comments, and most of the time, it's pretty forgettable stuff; but sometimes you rise to the top like butterfat in milk. We don't recommend you base your self-worth on how often we feature your comments, but we don't expressly forbid it either.
