Introducing the Thanksgiving Fantasy League!

by Kathleen Richards

We're bringing back our bracket competition just in time for Thanksgiving. Watch as all your favorite thanksgiving foods go head to head in a fight to the death. It's the Thanksgiving Fantasy League and it's happening all November, right here on Woot!

How it works:

We're setting up polls that will pit all our Thanksgiving favorites against each other and decide once and for all what the greatest Thanksgiving food is. Polls will be open for voting throughout November on our home page. After each round of voting, half of the competitors will be knocked out until we are left with just one ultimate champion!

Keep checking back on Woot throughout November to vote on matchups and watch as some foods rise to greatness while others are eliminated.

Anyone can vote on the matchups, but if you want to really get in on the fun (and maybe win yourself something nice in the process), you'll need to join the fantasy league and draft your very own Thanksgiving dream team.

Here's how to play:

1. Draft your team. Check out the current bracket to see the competitors and their standings. From each of the four regions (Meat, Sides, Vegetables, and Desserts) you get to choose 1 player. The four players you choose make up your team. The draft is official when you post your selection as a comment on this blog post. It's ok for multiple players to draft the same team member or have the same teams- we want there to be enough options for everyone to play. Voting starts on Monday 11/9, so draft picks are due by midnight Sunday 11/8!

2. Participate in the tournament. Vote for your team members or vote for your favorite foods (they don't have to be the same). For every percentage of the vote your team members take in their matches, you get that many points. Once one of your team members gets knocked out of the competition, they stop earning points for you, but you still get to keep all the points they earned up until then.

Also, keep track of your team's score as the tournament progresses. We'll post the poll results here after each round, but we're not going to keep track of your points for you.

3. Win!!! I mean, maybe win. Check back on Thanksgiving day for the final tournament results. Post your final scores and we'll identify and verify the winners. You could end up winning yourself something nice...

Draft your teams now and come back on 11/9 to vote in the first round!
