Happy Music Monday! When you're in the mood for a fuzzy guitar, there's nothing else that will do. And today, people, Scott's in the mood for some fuzzy guitar. So here are five buzzy songs that showcase the beauty of rock fuzz. And we don't mean that time when David Bowie grew a beard.

Amboy Dukes - Journey To The Center Of The Mind

It doesn't matter if you love Ted Nugent's politics, hate Ted Nugent's politics, or are terrified that Ted Nugent's out there in the woods with a bow. When you hear the fuzzy freak-out that pours out from this Amboy Dukes hit, you can be make those rock horns and be happy.

It's only getting fuzzier after this. See you beyond the jump!

Cream - White Room

One you've heard this song, you can easily identify it in about half a second from the intro. And then it gets all psychedelic. Black curtains? Silver horses? A place where the sun never shines? Just focus on the fuzzy guitar and thank God this song didn't come out in the age of music videos. It probably would have made Total Eclipse Of The Heart look calm and reserved.

Nazz - Open My Eyes

One bonus point if you know how my last reference catty-corner segues into this song! Here's a hint: That's a young Todd Rundgren rockin' out on this fuzzy-ful pop song. Maybe it's not as loved as it should be, but that's okay. It's too fuzzy for the masses anyway.

Wolfmother - Woman

It's so nice that the fuzzy guitar wasn't just left behind in the past. 2006's Wolfmother picked up the buzz and carried it high into the 21st Century. And let's be honest: if you didn't know any better, you'd swear this was a forgotten track from the early '70s.

Led Zeppelin - No Quarter

Starts fuzzy. Ends fuzzy. Throws fuzzy at you in the middle. The vocals are fuzzy. The organ's fuzzy. The drums are fuzzy. Even the cover art's a little fuzzy. No Quarter, we crown thee the ultimate fuzzy rock song, end of story. Oh, but don't let that stop you, gentle reader, from posting your own choices in the comments below.

You heard the man! Get to posting! Also let us just remind you: some images come from the corresponding Wikipedia page and are here under fair use. See you next week.

Odd, none of your videos loaded for me, but I don't see anything wrong with the links.

Edited to add: oh fine, NOW they load.

Also: all good choices!

This was a teeny bit harder than usual, as my daily tastes tend to run toward the over-produced, but a couple of songs came to mind:

Syd Barrett, No Man's Land

13th Floor Elevators, Slip Inside This House (I feel like I've posted this before; was there a Music Monday on songs we're convinced influenced Charles Manson?)
