A friend of ours – well, a relative, actually, and the winner of the 1st Annual Shirt.Woot Analog Derby – recently related a chilling tale that unfolded during a role-playing game session in his basement. He and his pals were gathered around the de rigeur huge gaming table, busily dispatching orcs and kobolds to the next plane of mortality. (Or so we assume. We don’t really remember what goes on at those things.)

Suddenly, down plopped a brown blur, right into the middle of the table: a wolf spider! And not a pewter miniature of one, either – a real, live spider. Stunned, they froze for a second. Oh, it’s just a spider, we’ll swat it and carry on with the game. But wait: what about those little clumps of dirt that fell off of it? Why was the dirt…moving?

Then the full horror dawned on them. That wasn’t dirt. It was baby wolf spiders, in countless numbers, dislodged from their passenger seats atop mom’s back. A berserker frenzy of swatting ensued. And even though they were pretty sure they got them all, every player at the table spent the rest of the night squirming in their collars and rubbing at phantom ticklings.

There’s something grotesque about the way the Kingston 2GB Micro SD Card nests in a larger duplicate of itself, the MicroSD adapter. Something animal. Something repellent. If the adapter dropped onto the table in front of us and disgorged a tiny little clone of itself, we’d freak the hell out.

But maybe that says more about us than about the Kingston 2GB Micro SD Card.
