It's like my smartphone on steroids

An outstanding tablet! I use it constantly. And when I'm not using it, the charging stand turns it into a great digital picture frame. With fairly good sound. Not only do I take it with me everywhere, but it now replaces me having to take my laptop computer. It's smaller and lighter and has all the capabilities that I need on the road. Apps run super fast and smoothly. And the screen is large and vibrant. This is the best tech purchase that I've made in years. And it's a great value for the price.

~2 years later, and Google still can't see its own flaws.

Never have I ever bought a Google device before... Never will I again. As an avid tech person, I, along with many others, was thrilled to see this device get announced: The smart home hub that doubled as a tablet, AND from a reliable brand. Being newly married and moving into my first home with my wife, I thought this would be *perfect*, but this device ended up being dumber than Apple selling its latest "built for AI" iPhones without AI (really, Apple?). From the start, this device had issues: clock not displaying, not responding to "Hey, Google", not notifying me that someone was ringing my doorbell (a Google doorbell, might I add), signing me out of accounts on the device, amongst other issues. But, I'm a tech guy, so I did the tech guy things to troubleshoot (restarting, signing in/out, etc.), but to no avail, then humbly contacting Google for assistance to troubleshoot more (factory resets, TechSee, etc.). And I contacted them again. And again. And again. After spending consecutive hours on the phone (multiple times) with assistance, you would *think* that something would come out of this! But, No. Not once were my issues solved, but better yet, not once was I offered a replacement... until now. And it just so happens to be that my warranty is now expired, so they will NOT replace my device. "Why was I not offered a replacement when my device was still under warranty?" I asked. "I cannot give any reasons for those interactions but we cannot replace your device now." Thanks, supervisor. $500 for a dud that won't let me know that its $200 counterpart is being rung. $700 for a tech team that can't tell if I'm using this device or a Nest Hub (I kid you not, they transferred me between different product support too many times for this confusion alone, even after I tell them that I'm using a Pixel Tablet). Maybe I received a defective model. Okay, I can deal with that. But the tech support giving me this inadequate and deceitful advice? C'mon, now, fellas. There is grace for all. And I hold nothing against Google or their tech teams. I just was really let down but such a promising product. I like a good part of Google's products, but none of them are devices – just software. I've heard their Pixel phones are really good! I will *not* be the one to find out if that is true. I hope this review is helpful to those who are looking for an in-depth experience :)
