Hang on. You're saying if I cook my OWN food it would be healthier than fast food every night?

You know how people on weight loss journeys talk about things just "clicking" for them? I think I just had that moment! It turns out that eating out three meals a day is actually not good for your health! I know! I was shocked, too. I figured I was safe "leaving it to the professionals," but it turns out the professionals care more about loading oversized portions with fat and salt to literally addict you to their food than they do about giving you adequate nutrition.

So I'm trying something different: I picked up a Cuisinart 14-Piece Cookware Set and I'm going to try cooking my own meals instead. It's kind of tough at first, to be honest; I have no idea how to make "secret sauce" or French fries yet, and I haven't figured out how I'm supposed to shape any part of the chicken into a nugget.

But it turns out that might actually be helping me lose weight, believe it or not. There's this thing fast food places never serve you called "a vegetable," and they're really tasty if you know what to do with them. I hear they're pretty healthy, and more importantly they don't bloat and distend my stomach and make me wake up in the middle of the night with a cold sweat and ringing in my ears. You learn something new every day.
